I'll throw this out there.

Keith Taylor for Andre Dillard.

Taylor has been playing great and Dillard lost his starting LT job. Taylor has one more year of cheap contract and philly needs CBs. I almost dont want to make this trade cause its a good chance Dillard is another Greg Little clone given his poor play. Risk.....tisk....

What? Taylor is a rookie. He has a three year cheap deal. We'd be nuts to trade him.

I think philly would come back and ask for Taylor after the panthers offered Bouye. Taylor is much younger and has 3 more years of cheap contract, were Bouye has only one year and I think the cap hit is sorta high next year.

I think its fair for both sides, Dillard plays LT and that spot holds more value than CB. Would you honestly turn down Dillard for Taylor?? I know Dillard looks soft and Taylor doesnt.... its more of a risk right now for panthers.....but finding a LT is harder than finding a CB. Panthers would still be loaded at CB, even next year as well...

Agree that LT is more valuable than CB, but I think our best bet is to just sign a LT in free agency. (No, Don't mean a JAG like Erving)  We've taken fliers on a few "failed" draft picks so far and it's come with mixed results. What if Dillard doesn't end up as much of an improvement?

Eww.  Honestly, the only CBs I would consider trading at this point are Bouye and Jackson, for the very right price.  Taylor is balling out and has shown some lockdown traits and he is a 5th round rookie.  He's only going to get better, no way I'm trading him.  Love Donte, too, but the CB room is crowded and he's coming up for a contract...

And I definitely think both of them would net much more than Dillard.  I'm not interested in trading for him, as his issues in Philly give me pause.

But LT......Dillard is on a rookie deal as well. Hes not a lost cause and they would have to take some dead cap hit. So you would turn down Taylor for Dillard??

Yea Talyor is playing well, but he was an 5th rounder. Dillard was on everyones top 20 list and plays LT, just one year ago. I think its worth the risk, in order to get potential you have to trade something of value. Bouye has little to no value to the rebuilding eagles, where as Taylor does....

Im not full 100% for it, but think its fair for everyone and worth the risk for panthers.

LOl, we are stuck with him. No team is going to look at his performance this year along with his contract and say with a straight face, 'That's a good deal!'

Yea be we can offer to pay some and get a pick. But at that point it looks really really dumb to sign him just months ago. Even though….it was.

You have a better chance at signing a good QB than good LT, they just dont hit the market. Its the rarest of rare. LT is the hardest spot to fill, thats worth one 5th rounder Keith Taylor. Its good hes playing well, adds to his value.

Rams are going all in.  They want at least ONE ring now and apparently have no regard about how this cripples them down the road.

When you make good moves…I mean I don’t blame them. We’ve cripple the team down the road for 5 wins.

Sobering reminder no FA qb worth anything will be attracted to this poo pile. Good thing the worst qb draft in two decades is coming up.

being a Panther fan is awesome!

I would personally take great pause in a move for Dillard who in 2 short years went from first round to trade material and was beaten out by a seventh rounder.  He isn’t good

Yea he hasnt played well, but if he was no chance hed be available. I mean Im talking about Keith Taylor here........Did I miss the time-line were Taylor has entered the HOF?? I think Dillard is still fixable and hes still young. All I shooting for is a decent LT, Im still believe Dillard could be just that.

Probably, but since we won yesterday traffic is slow this morning because 80% of the Huddle has nothing to b!tch about, so it's worth some baseless speculation.

What in the past history of this board has indicated people can't find something to bitch about after a win?

    • Well, he either plays well or we suck again and get the #1 pick and get our new QB for next year.  Im not stressing.
    • the way it should be. the way it has to be.  when you get a rookie (no matter where he is drafted), you don't expect him to play like a vet or even get a grasp on NFL offenses like a vet. if you intend to have him running the offense, you build the offense around what they do and what clicks.  not Young's fault, but he was sold as someone who would be a rookie but has the mind of a seasoned vet. guess what...he wasn't. reich and "his" crew had no idea how to work with a rookie QB or groom one. they thought they knew, but they didn't and it was obvious in the lack of plan they had for him. their plan was to treat him like he was a seasoned vet. even with that, i don't think they had any clear vision not just with Bryce, but with the offense. There was no cohesion between all the various coaches. nothing fit together and reich wasn't a strong enough leader to pull it all together.  i like the approach of starting over with the fundamentals and i think it's good for any new coaching staff or new QB to a system. you don't know what to expect so you start from the beginning to make sure you're on the same page from the beginning. and as you get more used to each other, you learn what works, what could really work well, and what won't work and you form the playbook around that. contrast that with chud who had been working on a playbook for years and just wanted to use it regardless of whether the situation called for it or the personnel he had (on the team or even on the field) fit what he wanted to call.   or last year when we had coaches from completely different backgrounds trying to put something together that was supposed to be a blend of what each brought to the table, but just ended up being a sloppy predictable mess that didn't fit anyone on the team, QB, WRs, and OL.
    • I've always been super pumped up for the upcoming season but I've never been so uninterested in a new season. After six years under Dipper I've been left at end of season drunken and wallowing in my own piss... not invested in the team right now but hope Canales and Morgan make a good team together...
