Or we could have just stopped trying to run him at the goal line like he was 2015 Cam. It was always going to end with a big hit sooner or later a defender was going to look to make him pay. The Falcons were dirty enough to be the first.

Rivera would have taken that shot.

Idk why enough people aren’t saying this .  He knows to get down . Love the effort tho

I get that he was trying to score and all that, but that is why we have running backs...one of which happened to score a TD like 2 plays later.

Not sure why he didn't just freaking slide on that play...

You wonder why he didn’t slide in the middle of the 4th quarter in a two point game a yard away from the end zone?

You don’t wonder why two LBs from across the field were allowed to go untouched full speed at him?

Did you even wonder why cam never slid? Because as I remember it everyone blamed the refs, play calling and blocking.

Can you imagine how much poo from the huddle if he slid, had to settle for a FG and losing the game?

lol you guys are so dumb

how many qbs do the panthers need to ruin before they effectively address the oline

the world may never know

Yeah I'm dumb, but in one sentence you talk about how stupid it would be to slide, then in the very next breath you talk about us "ruining QBs".  Funny, our current QB is now injured because he didn't slide.  Thats not the o-lines fault, thats not the coaches fault, thats Sam trying to be a hero instead of being smart and preserving his body.  Pretty sure Rhule, Brady and everybody else would prefer him to get down, rather than fuging up his head and his shoulder on the same play.

fug outta here with that bullshit. fuck outta here the kid mero GIF by Desus & Mero

Oh, and Cam never slid like that because hes 6'5", 250 and built like a tank, while being the most prolific rushing QB in NFL history.  Not exactly Sams skill-set, is it?

No I comprehended it just fine.  You're just a 'tard.  You're trying to blame Sam getting a concussion on the o-line on that play when he was 10 yards down the field.  I'm trying to say he should have slid instead of taking on a defensive end like hes a fullback.

    • Jake in his prime was a gutsy QB. But just like with even someone like Cam. Father time is undefeated. It's very unfortunate we have a guy who is only 24 years old that has an equivalent arm to that. Absolutely blows my mind that our brain trust lacked the basic common sense to value arm talent when making a massive trade with ramifications for years to come. Unforgivable incompetence.
    • Jake, to me, will always hold a special place in my heart.  I really feel like for his era, he deserved way more love than he got, and should’ve had more than his one Pro Bowl.  He was a gamer with an underrated rocket arm. but let me tell you, after his Tommy John surgery, when he came back, I can’t remember who it was against, but it think it was a division game, he threw a ball that was supposed to be a throw away, as I think he was under pressure, and that poo floated forever and died right at the boundary where a defender ran over and picked it off.  One of the worst throws I ever saw.  His arm just wasn’t the same after the injury and surgery.  All that to say, that’s what almost every Bryce throw to the sidelines looks like to me.
    • And again, when watching him in college he had one distinct trait that I feel makes a franchise QB - on those plays when everything breaks down around him, he creates one on his own.  He doesn’t rely on or need everyone else.  That play last night on the final drive where he was getting sacked and threw it to Diggs before his knee hit the ground?  He does similar things all the time.  Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, etc., they all do it.  It’s what made Cam so special. but we picked a guy that’s the opposite of that.  He desperately needs someone else to make a play for him because he can’t.  Even that play yesterday on 4th down to Horn.  That wasn’t a great pass.  The defender was late and came down to make a play in the ball and Bryce threw it high and outside where Horn had to leave his feet and really use strong hands to catch it.  We relied on a 5’9” rookie playing in his first pro game to make THAT catch at THAT time bc of the early turnovers and a not great throw.  Crazy.
