Carolina Panthers agree to terms with Cam Newton.

Just shows how completely inept Rhule and the Panthers Front Office is and how desperate Tepper is to sell tickets.

Cut an injured Newton for a back up Bridgewater, trade Bridgewater off for peanuts after a massive contract and then trade for Darnold losing several draft picks, place a completely shell shocked Darnold on IR for an injured prostate (butt hurt) and then re sign the same injured Newton.  Jebus help this team please...they are lost and only you can save them.

Listening to the OG and they are way more reasonable than Adam Gold. All Gold did was bitch about why the coaching staff waited so long to sign Cam this week. He's always been nit picky about the team. Well, they had the guy that broke the Twitter news that the team was meeting with Cam. Come to find out, the team talked with Cam on Tuesday and then Cam came here on a plane today. So that shot down one of the main points Gold was harping on over and over today.

He also harped on this being a desperation move and a window into how much of a clown show this organization is with how they handled the QB situation. The OG stated that it's a move that needed to be made to help your football team right now and gave them credit for realizing what needed to be done. They also brought up that Darnold was not the first choice and we tried to bring in Stafford and Watson. This staff tried to bring in better options at QB. They didn't just look at Darnold and say "that's our guy" without doing anything else.

Gold comes off as an arrogant, sarcastic asshole. He kept saying this is mostly good for him entertainment wise and not really sure its good for the team. He also doubts we see good Cam here. The only good thing he said was that Cam was actually really good in the first half of 2018 before he got injured. I don't know why he has his own time slot here. All he does is repeat the same shitty takes over and over throughout his show. He should be in another state up North covering someone else. The Panthers aren't even his team. He's a former Jets fan.

I'm just tired of all the bitching about the past. Just be fuging happy Cam is back.

Gold is right in his analysis. I listened to it and agree this isn't a good football move.

It's a move to sell tickets and try to stay above 500....which it most likely will do....but all that does is place the Panthers in the middle of the draft and misses out on first round QBs....

I would prefer to start a back up and IR CMC so the panthers can get a redo on picking a first round QB...but that was never going to happen...so having Cam actually helps CMC and may prevent him from getting pummeled by defenses due to Cams ability to run..plus Cam can only throw the ball 20 yards now so CMC will be his primary target....LOL

This is exactly what they should have done

We don't need ticket sales.

You know what sells tickets? Being World Champs.

Time will tell if this was a good football move or not.  I'd love to find that it was.

However, anyone who tries to deny the impact Cam Newton has had on this franchise is delusional.  I've never been a huge Cam fan, nor have I been a hater.  But I would and will never question the unbelievable impact he's had on the Panthers.

All football talk aside, having him here, and hopefully this being his last stop would really be "right".

Because we had so much better on the roster, right?

You understand I was for Sam based solely on ceiling. A ceiling that could win a Superbowl if we fixed his head.

Cam has no ceiling. The Patriots Cam is a 500 QB at best and that's the last thing we need.

    • Varying degrees all around but it starts at the top. That is where the buck stops. It has been 8 years of stupid, long before Morgan came back. Or Tillis was hired. Made it to the top of stupid mountain in 2023. Stayed in stupid limbo for a while, now we are prepping to scale the next mountain. In this case, I like those guys’ roster building better than what we have had so I am okay with them as our current pawns in the game of Bryce.
    • Don't let me gas him up too much, but I hear this and that...... I seen a wide body man with a quick burst, that's able to shed blocks and if extends his long arms its over. He tore up the OL in the senior, you seen about 10 plays and the dog walking OLman. There's other plays of him doing the same, just have to deal with fetus talking over the plays. Plus there's this-  https://x.com/PFF_College/status/2018385471068332410?lang=en     I hope he's ready, cause Id like to see him starting and doing his thang with dbrown, nic, and Phillips.
    • I mean there is relevance to that. But I think much of it has to do with the fact that he is clearly likeable. But does that translate to a coach taking his position to the next level like those that have had staying power for many years like Spoelstra? And not for nothing but does how much someone is liked even matter? Across leagues with the Panthers Ron Rivera and Marty Hurney were universally well liked by players. Dave Canales is very well liked. I say you are what your record says. And the record says you got your ass handed to you by a fellow expansion team in the Magic in a game that was over at halftime and that same team went toe to toe with our nemesis who has been handing us L's for over a year now. And if Bam doesn't get his leg swept by LaMelo do we even get past the Heat? Again. It just all boils down to personal standards. I think newer and younger fans will love this. I just want to actually win a real playoff game fam 🤷‍♂️
