It kind of did when we beat Arizona. We went from the toilet to instant playoff team and even talks of SB run because of Cam’s story (lol at thinking the NFL wants Cam to win).

We made a positive change at the most important position in football. How is the new 1-0 WFT different from the old 2-7 WFT from pre Bucs win?

I don't think our situations are comparable.

Man that TB win really went to their heads. Can't say the same thing wouldn't happen here tho lol

Lol, yeah that's happening here right now. Great game. I loved it. It was fun. Cardinals are good. They were injured on offense. Our D won the game in the first quarter. Cam brought an energy that we desperately needed. He ran 4 plays? He scored 2 redzone TDs. Always was his strength. Our fan board has a Cam pic in Super Man pose? We have posts and comments talking playoff run. We have our QB for the next few years? We can actually kick FGs now.

Just last week we had posts saying we needed to fire everyone. Rhule, Brady, Fitts and start a new rebuild. We need a new owner. We are the worst team in the history of football or at least in Carolina history. Our owner needs to do more and yet does too much. Half our fans will never watch this team again. We were 4-5 and not playing well but in just 1 game something happened. We're 5-5. And we have 2 winnable games coming up so hopefully this is the moment I've been waiting for where we get that end of season mojo going that good young teams sometimes get before they breakout.

Wow, what a difference 1 game can make.

We still need to rebuild the offense and find our QB of the future but for now at least everything is ok.

I'm just happy the mood changed around here. It's been unbearable lately.

Where are WFT fans getting the idea that they have a stellar defense still?

Don't get me wrong, their secondary is strong and their LBs are doing great even though they lost Bostic for the year (Davis + Holcomb are better, so no biggie). Their DL is incredible, but they've lost Chase Young for the year and Montez Sweat's jaw is still being put back together on the IR.

So who's going to rush the passer?

Allen, Payne, and Ioannidis are a nasty DL, but they're going to get tired of a run-first team led by Cam Newton coming at them downhill all game.

Oh... looks like their only healthy starting CB is Corn Elder?

Then of course, there's the offense which is trying to find a TE with Logan Thomas out and relying on Heinicke at QB.

    • this     I never cease to be amazed at the number of people who will run up their blood pressure to get to the grocery store 30 seconds faster or are racing to get to work like it won’t be there at 8:02.   The only thing I’ve ever done that I think added more years to my life besides quitting smoking, was to learn to go with the flow behind the wheel.
    • The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.
    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
