For the 1st time ever the Panthers seem to have a wealth of depth at the Cornerback position... They are fully stacked with talented CB at all phases in their career..

We got Atleast 5 or 6 guys you can see starting next year.. So how do you guys want this to play out??  Who do you want to resign who do you want keep??

The core (youth) is going to be Taylor, Horn, and Henderson and they should be cheap for a while.  We need to keep a veteran (Jackson or Gilmore) for a season or two, giving us 4 starting caliber CBs.  Remember, we have Hartsfield at Nickel, and he has been solid.

This is a good question, and Jackson may want to break the bank with this contract.  What about Moore? (5th year) Reddick?  potentially Cam? Free agent OL?  We are going to lose a veteran CB or two---maybe all of them.

Re-sign Dante. Unless Gilmore wants to sign a very team friendly deal let him walk and take the comp pick. I don't consider that out of the question. He seems really happy to be here. Consider bringing Bouye back if he's cheap. Otherwise, I'm very comfortable with our guys.

Bouye 2 year deal

I think Bouye was a 2 year deal. Should have him next year.

I’m personally not a fan of extending DJax. He will be very expensive. Our pass rush is helping our CBs a lot and we have a stable full of CBs. I would spend that money on Reddick.

You have to see the big picture, that is for sure.  I agree. Everyone approaches this like a kid in a candy store, but Fitterererer has only so many nickels in his pocket.  Jax is injury prone and you would be paying him after his best year by far.  He is probably a future comp pick.

Priorities

Reddick (DE/OLB)

Possibly Cam (QB)

Offensive line (RG, LT) Free agents

Middle Linebacker free agent

Free Safety free agent

Tight End free agent

We are blessed at CB, and the money should not go there, to be honest.  Henderson, Horn, Bouye, Taylor, Hartsfield (N)---with Pride, Thomas Oliver behind them--is a CB tandem most teams would covet.

Positional value dictates MLB isn that big of a need.. Carter at the right price is solid and all you need when surrounded by Good DT's  and LBS around him..

At this point I really think Jackson is gone. He's going to get paid and do we really want to tie up that money when Gilmore and Horn would probably be almost as good. I mean it just depends on the negotiations between Jackson and Gilmore but it's a good problem to have.

    • https://www.prohockeyrumors.com/2024/06/bruins-hurricanes-could-swap-linus-ullmark-and-martin-necas.html The Boston Bruins are continuing to garner more and more interest for their former Vezina Trophy-winning goaltender Linus Ullmark, giving them a chance to be picky about the return. That could exclude much of the league from acquiring the star netminder, with Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman sharing on The Jeff Marek Show that he doesn’t believe teams like the Vancouver Canucks or Montreal Canadiens have the assets to acquire Ullmark. Friedman added that the Carolina Hurricanes could be one of the few teams rich enough for the deal, especially if they involve forward Martin Necas. https://www.prohockeyrumors.com/carolina-hurricanes Expect the Maple Leafs and Predators to be two of the top suitors for Hurricanes defenseman Brett Pesce if he hits the open market next month, The Fourth Period’s David Pagnotta reports.
    • They do, just when. I hate to be pessimistic but it’s all about the QB. I can’t recall a QB situation where a bad QB (not bad stats, but looking like they don’t belong) turned a team around. Peyton Manning had a ridiculous amount of interceptions but he didn’t show his future limitations. Usually, it was picking another QB in the draft. Unfortunately, IMHO, we won’t be really better until we get our Cam v2, someone who can carry the team and not win only if we have a stud lineup around him. That’s why I’m more interested in how the rest of the draft picks do to see if we can actually solve holes like the ones we created losing Olsen, CMC, Moore, Turner/Kalil/Norwell, etc. I want to actually be one QB away not Fitterer’s definition of one player away.
    • I will say once you have been in newer arenas and stadiums with their way better bathroom set-ups, it is such a massive improvement. It clears up a lot of insane lines just waiting around to piss.  I have taken to not drinking at all at older stadiums just so I don't have to deal with planning when to take a piss and what part of the game I am gonna be forced to miss because of it. It's so nice to be in a new arena/stadium with way better bathroom accessibility that doesn't force you to literally miss the game. Not to mention I will actually spend money on booze there then.
