THIS

the snap count talk is a bogus excuse by Rhule to not admit the coaching blunder.   Yes, Gilmore is on a snap count.  And they largely inserted him into the plays DJax got torched.  Because NFL teams largely can predict a lot of passing downs.   That's when Gilmore comes out.

The first half was just a coaching error.  Gilmore should of been on McLaurin.   Just like they largely did in the 2nd half.  But by that time Washington had some nice momentuem in confidence.  That O goes through McLaurin.

are you saying Gilmore came out on the passing downs?

Don’t reason with a fool.

Most of the people defending Rhule were ready to fire Rivera after his first year and a half when both coaches have nearly identical records after their first 27 games…

Rivera: 9-18

Rhule: 10-17

One had a rookie QB.

One had veteran QBs

While people may have been upset with Ron, it's hard to call the scenarios similar.  Plus, Cam and Ron set crazy high expecations after year 1.

In my opinion that makes it even look worse for Rhule. He hand picked his guy twice, got it wrong, and came crawling back to Rivera’s guy.

That's what they have been doing him with.

4/5 of McLaurin's completions were on 1st and 10.  5/7 of his targets were on 1st down.

Maybe Gilmore was actually in on passing downs so they attacked us running downs?

Sounds like they actually attacked us on the non passing downs.

If you truly believe DJax is a better DB than Gilly, I can't help you.

This season he has been on the basic fact Gilly hasn’t played but 4 games this season..

Jesus Christ don’t you have to play actual games and consistently face teams best wr option to count..

By your rationale Deion is the best cb in the league even thoe he hasn’t played in 10 years..lmao

One was a new coach during a pandemic season.. Does that not count being a new coach having to hold practice on scipe..

Gilmore was on the field playing coverage on both McLaurin's two biggest first half plays.  The long bomb down the sideline and then the TD.  He just wasn't on McLaurin.

Good Lord man… he’s getting paid $56M to be an NFL head coach and you want to hold his hand…

First it’s… well little Matty is improving, now it’s little Matty didn’t come into the best situation… anything else?

If you walked into an actual job with all these excuses your ass would be fired before you could think of another excuse.

No i want to give the same time for judgment and development we given every coach… Most of us here wasn’t screaming fire Ron in the middle of his 2nd season..

For heaven sake Seifert got more then a year and a half.. And he wasn’t showing up for practice and locking his office to players..

It's just a complete waste of time unless you want to bicker with a blind man.

Jackson is fine, he just isn't the player some think him to be. And I think that now includes Rhule and Co. I'm interested in seeing if they Darnold him the next game or admit his strengths & weaknesses and put him in better positions going forward. To be continued...

    • Jake in his prime was a gutsy QB. But just like with even someone like Cam. Father time is undefeated. It's very unfortunate we have a guy who is only 24 years old that has an equivalent arm to that. Absolutely blows my mind that our brain trust lacked the basic common sense to value arm talent when making a massive trade with ramifications for years to come. Unforgivable incompetence.
    • Jake, to me, will always hold a special place in my heart.  I really feel like for his era, he deserved way more love than he got, and should’ve had more than his one Pro Bowl.  He was a gamer with an underrated rocket arm. but let me tell you, after his Tommy John surgery, when he came back, I can’t remember who it was against, but it think it was a division game, he threw a ball that was supposed to be a throw away, as I think he was under pressure, and that poo floated forever and died right at the boundary where a defender ran over and picked it off.  One of the worst throws I ever saw.  His arm just wasn’t the same after the injury and surgery.  All that to say, that’s what almost every Bryce throw to the sidelines looks like to me.
    • And again, when watching him in college he had one distinct trait that I feel makes a franchise QB - on those plays when everything breaks down around him, he creates one on his own.  He doesn’t rely on or need everyone else.  That play last night on the final drive where he was getting sacked and threw it to Diggs before his knee hit the ground?  He does similar things all the time.  Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, etc., they all do it.  It’s what made Cam so special. but we picked a guy that’s the opposite of that.  He desperately needs someone else to make a play for him because he can’t.  Even that play yesterday on 4th down to Horn.  That wasn’t a great pass.  The defender was late and came down to make a play in the ball and Bryce threw it high and outside where Horn had to leave his feet and really use strong hands to catch it.  We relied on a 5’9” rookie playing in his first pro game to make THAT catch at THAT time bc of the early turnovers and a not great throw.  Crazy.
