If we tear it all down again how long would it take...

I think it is a myth that it takes a long time to win in the NFL.  The league overall is designed for parity.

Rivera, Fox, Capers all took over bad teams (or nonexistent) and had winning ones fairly quick.

I have little doubt that a competent coaching staff could have this team competitive their first season and in the playoffs by the second.   This team is young but only needs decent coaching, an improved line and a game manager QB to become a contender

So lets say we tear it all down..fire rhule. We hire the next big thing coach..hit on most of our draft picks the next 2 years. How long realistically would it take to get back the to superb owl?

How far away are we with our core and good coaching?

Would you be ok with going through a losing season next year as long as rhule is gone to get a good pick?

What is best case scenario W-L record for our potential rookie coach next year?

What would be your first steps as new coach?

We have no core.  CMC is glass.  DJ is the best WR2 in the NFL or a low end WR1.  Everyone else on offense is either JAG or worse.

Shaq, Burns, Reddick, Djax and Gilmore are above replacement and Horn flashed, but he has to prove it all again after injury.  Everyone else is JAG or worse.

ST is a disaster.

Having traded our 2nd and 3rd picks next year.  We’re saddled with either Rhulegime for another year or a new coaching staff with a total gutting likely.  Certainly a delicate cap situation with how much money is committed to CMC and our deluge of rotten QBs.

We’d have to catch lightning in a bottle to be relevant any time in the near future.  Tampa isn’t going away until Tom retires.  Green Bay won’t go away until Aaron retires.  God forbid but Dallas looks solid.  LA is a contender, Seattle is always a wild card.  SF is a wild card.  Arizona is ahead of us, could probably argue Chicago and Washington are as well.  Hell, even New Orleans and Atlanta can make a case they’re no worse than us.  That’s just the NFC.  It took 5 years after drafting Cam to be a legit contender and it didn’t last long.

With that said we went from 1-15 in 2001 to nearly winning a Super Bowl in 2003.  So there’s a case for a quick turnaround and the NFL certainly has plenty of examples.  Right now the team feels like the Browns though.  Just cycling through possible solutions so quickly that you never even know if there was potential in patience.

Get a good caoch, use every pick on the offensive line, including trading back where possible, and bring in at least 1 good free agent so that you come to training camp with 8 to 10 new offensive linemen.

Moton at tackle. Brady and Deonte fighting with the new hires for the other 4 spots, and turn it around fast.

The defense has great pieces to coach up. The offense has some good skill pieces. A new coach that builds up the line, uses CMC out of the backfield less, and has the QB just manage the game can win next year. The offensive line and the coaching staff are the problem, fix those and win next year.

Tom can't play forever, Matt Ryan can't play forever, with a new coach, why can't it be us next.

Stop fuging trading back, that poo doesnt work.  Evaluate the players and pick the fuging talent.  Stop being cute it doesnt work

How do you figure 2 years?   How is it possible to get a rookie qb up to speed that quickly and completely overhaul the line and fill in the other holes?   We are in a bad bad spot as we stand here today as a franchise

Based on if a head coach is going to take a team to the Superbowl they do it within 3 years of being with that team. 4 if they don't get their QB until year 2.

If they don't make it in that time frame, they won't.

If it takes longer than 2 years to start winning, it's taken too long.

Maybe for a normal franchise but I dont see it here.  We have too many holes, 4 out of 5 lineman, linebackers, another corner or 2 and yeah a competent qb.

Keeping in mind the draft this year is pretty much a dud with only one high pick of value.  IMO this is a 3 minimum and that is if everything breaks our way

No. For any franchise. If we don't hit it in 3 years with the next coach then we have to move on to another one.

They only have 2 years to start winning or 3 to get to the Superbowl or it's not happening.

Sure man, but my point still stands, its going to take more then 2-3 years to build a solid roster

Playoffs we should expect in 2 years max. The NFC South is trash. Rivera took advantage of that and won three straight titles. That's my bar. You should be able to do at least what Rivera did. If not, bye.

Superb Owl? That's a difficult one. If you just stay in that discussion regularly(top 3-5 NFC teams) then I expect to break through to the game at least a couple of times in a 10 year span. That seems to be about average for non-Pats teams that maintain success.
