Cam will be in the Hall. The lack of a SB victory on his resume doesn't help...

This will be intriguing to watch.

Pro Football Reference has devised a stat they call Hall of Fame Monitor (HOFm) and the QB rankings are interesting to read up on...

Only 2 QB's with a lower rating than Cam have ever been elected to the HOF -- Troy Aikman and Jim Kelly.

Aikman obviously won 3 Super Bowl titles and while he was win-less Kelly went to the Super Bowl 4-straight years.

Statistics here:  https://www.pro-football-reference.com/hof/hofm_QB.htm?__hstc=213859787.dbb0c9cf9d34c060fb1c678053f7bc8d.1640243706660.1640243706660.1640243706660.1&__hssc=213859787.1.1640243706660&__hsfp=1853336022

Cam's also unique in how he plays, what his running has brought to his game and the NFL in general, and that he has carried the Carolina offense for a decade. Not sure the voters will recognize that, but it is a different type of case.

I don't know who he bribed.

Kelly was a good passer, though he was helped along by some superior receiving and rushing talents around him, not to mention a great O-line.

Cam should get a HoF nod simply for his stats in “games with a rushing and passing TD” as he blew past everyone else in that category, but sadly he won’t. And that will bother me forever.

I just don’t think enough voters appreciate Cam’s talents or records (especially the “games with a rushing and passing TD”) to get him in the Hall. It sucks, but that’s how I see it.

Those voters won't always be the one making the choices.  That is why I say it's a matter of when.

Laugh all you want pal, they are a big factor whether you like it or not...

Marv Levy, an incredible roster i.e. Andre Reed, Thurman Thomas, Bruce Smith and a weak AFC got Kelly to 4 superbowls. And I liked Kelly. Stop attributing everything to Kelly. Cam accomplished ALL he did with the exact opposite. His accompanying cast was ALWAYS ass cheeks. Yet how many records does Cam hold? You people are crazy if you think he won't get in eventually.

Look, I don't care about Kelly or the Bills, or Aikman, or the Cowboys...

...I'm simply pointing to the water over the dam (as per Pro Football Reference) for NFL QB's who ARE IN the NFL Hall of Fame.

Only 2 QB's with a lower PFR-HOFm have ever been elected to The Hall and both had lesser "stats"...

...but between them they played in 7 Super Bowls.

    • This 1000%.  Hey who wants to sign with the guy that couldn't even get his client the guaranteed contract of a 3rd round pick?  Lmao
    • I don't think it's any weird or unique clause, it's the offset language, same thing so many contract disputes are over. It just means that including it, if a player is cut and then signed by another team, the original team would be able to subtract how much they're getting paid by the new team from what they still owe him on their guaranteed money. For example, it's why Russell Wilson signed for the minimum last year with the Steelers as that was included in his Denver contract.  So if he signed with the Steelers for $1 million, he'd get $1 million less from the Broncos, if it was $2 million, he'd get $2 million less, basically he couldn't make any more money than he was already going to make, so you sign for the minimum to not take unnecessary cap room from your new team while giving extra cap room to your old one. The problem with trying to include it in rookie deals is that a team trying to include it, it says they think they don't really believe the player will make it 4 years with the team before they cut them.  And this usually comes up with one or two rookies in most seasons, the difference is it's usually handled much more quietly and not as public and ugly as this one. The other difference is that it's happening with the Bengals, which I believe I saw are one of the few (or only?) team that doesn't have protections for rookies in rookie and mini camps to be able to participate even if they haven't signed their contract yet.  The other teams have injury protections that allow them to still play, but the Bengals do not, which is also why this one is so public and ugly, as most the time this happens, the rookie is still participating in the rookie and subsequent mini camps, giving them more time to get the contract done before training camp when they'd then hold out.
