I read that article and he is right imo

One thing is certain, darnold could be put behind Tampa’s line and he would still fail

he Simply does not process and react quickly enough if the first read is not there

it really is the bottom line

Here was my thought when we brought in Darnold. After talking with him, and discussing how he goes through his pre snap reads, snap, progressions, etc, that there was something there that the coaches thought they could teach him that could change and help him grow as a QB and make things easier. Sometimes it's all in how you see something. That was my hope.

What happened when we brought him here was much different. We threw him to the wolves with no improvement on the oline, an offense that actually plays to his weaknesses, and virtually no shot to get better. And this is what we got. It's no surprise he sucks. He just happens to be Rhule's guy so he's going to cover for him. Cam wasn't so he doesn't give a poo.

Jags fired their HC.  Have a rookie QB.  Have no talent on O besides a hurt RB......and they have just as many wins as us since the month of September.

I'd say we are worse presently.

It’s not even close IMO. They still have a high second round pick and two high third round picks (one that they got from us to take a player they didn’t want) and their QB is on a rookie deal.

The good news?  Rhule admitted that we need to "invest" in the OL.

In college, a bad line is not as "catastrophic" as they are in the NFL.

I still think Rhule is gone by Tuesday of next week.  Just a hunch.

I hope and pray your hunch is correct.

    • Another thread where the Huddle melts down over a Bryce comment.  "Conversations" and "Bryce Young has been signed to a new long-term contract" are still far away from being the gospel.  For a fanbase that has watched two top-3 drafted QBs come here, and us move on, only to see them elevate their play elsewhere, I find it comical. Bryce is flawed but this org is damned if you do and damned if you don't with BY9.  Why would our GM and HC say anything other than supportive about their QB1. Yes, he's extended, but I truly do not think if he goes out and has a repeat of the previous seasons, that he is here beyond 2027. They're giving him every opportunity and surrounding him with a ridiculous amount of assets on both sides of the ball. If he continues to pitch 110 yd/ game and cough up the ball while everyone else is busting their ass, no way Dan keeps him beyond the extension.
    • Ooof, I was not a Proctor fan. I agree w/ a lot of smarter folks than me that he's more of a guard and think his weight fluctuation is going to be something to navigate. I liked Lomu a lot, but figured there would be more talented guys there at 19. I also wasn't big on bringing in a TE via the draft. If it's not a vet (Njoku) or a trade for Mayer or Kmet, I'd just as soon see what the youngsters have. No need cluttering the room with more of the same.
    • Sam Darnold & Bryce Young are two very different Qbs ..just saying the last 25 years approximately 2/3 of ALL  first round Qb's  in the NFL were or are bust.so for everyone who makes it like a Sam Darnold you have two that don't make it or are a bust
