Peter King a fan of changing OT rules

Just make some rule changes that benefit the defense for once and we wouldn't even be having this argument. You can't even breathe on a receiver anymore without getting penalized among other things. The rule change to allow teams the ability to challenge pass interference barely lasted a season and they got rid of it because the refs were butthurt about being trigger happy with their flags. So many PI calls should have been overturned/never penalized in the first place that season but the Refs and Goodell are a bunch of clowns and can't admit to being wrong.

There is more to football than offense. The Bills defense had two chances back to back to stop Mahommes and the Chiefs and they failed both times. Don't need to change rules because of that.

The Chiefs actually lobbied to have it changed a few years ago and it got no attention, then they benefit from it. I don't think theres any easy solution to OT unless they just make it 5-10 minutes and whoevers up at the end is the winner. The college poo is kinda dumb and too close to Soccer, takes out the Team aspect to a degree.

I do agree the Bills screwed up at the end of regulation playing soft zone 15 yards off the line of scrimmage when the Chiefs had 3 time outs left. Just man up, whatever that 4/7 Zone scheme was was weak

The best option for OT rules is ... let them play the entire time. Jesus. It's not rocket science. Forget first score wins, forget first TD wins, forget both teams gets a drive, forget doing what college does. Give them one more quarter ... or maybe 12 min. It's football. A game. What's with all thes special rules?

    • I can always count on yout to put things so delicately lol. I'm still not sold on the fact that Tepper will make them keep him if they don't see him as a long term answer.
    • holy poo... this thread inspired me to keep trying to guess passwords to various alts I've created over the years and I finally got in! I pretty much accepted my fate as a lurker for the last several months because I could not remember my password. I didn't realize that new users couldn't join either, that explains things. I have been around for years under several different monikers, through the good and bad. I too always find myself coming back here even with all of the new social media options for Panther fan engagement. It's simply nostalgic.   I do get extremely annoyed with the same 5-10 posters shitting on Bryce and complaining about everything. It's unfortunate that half of them are mods and that nobody new can join because now I pretty much just come on here and see Bryce / Panther slander. There is barely any positivity to be had. We all watch this team and hang on this forum for entertainment purposes only. We have no control or say in anything. I used to be such a crazy ass fan that would argue with strangers about Cam newton on the internet and at games. Now, as a father of 3, a business owner and someone with way gnarlier life problems - I like to watch football and talk about football as an escape. Not to bitch more. I really like the direction of the team and will root anyone in a Panthers jersey. I live down the street from the Rams practice facility, Matthew Stafford is currently coaching his daughters flag football team in the same program I coach my sons. I have two highly ranked Rams staff members sons on my team. The way we beat them and had them on the ropes in the playoffs has me feeling amazing, and you would think we have the next great thing in Bryce with the way they all speak of him. I'm gonna ride that high and be a delusional fan, I hope that huddle can stick around or get fixed and perhaps I will get back to posting more now that I can log in again. I will do my best to not get banned. Keep Pounding!
    • Well, if they know Tepper wants to keep Bryce there is an an implied safety net there in case he fails. A possibility that he will be empathetic and •maybe• not fire them.  If they go against that and bring in someone else and that fails they are in a much worse spot.  IMO.  And another factor may be that after all those years of instability and musical chairs pre Bryce there will likely be a feeling of security in knowing what they have.   Kind of like settling just to keep from going through the process all over again.     IOW I think he really needs to fug up bad to lose his job and change our course.
