He needs to.

If I was him I would. Like now. They're doing a total teardown. What does a 70 year old want with that? Unless they're planning on some addition big moves to bring in talent with all that capital they got from dealing Wilson. Watson is really the only thing that makes sense.

He's too old for a rebuild.  Let him name a successor and throw him a retirement party.

Wow those are some huge moves.

I don't really think Carrol has been putting his best stuff out there for the last few years but I don't get him doing moves this big while running full speed at a complete rebuild competing for a top 5 pick just to retire after year 1. I also don't get them going QB needy this year of all years. Weird moves unless Carrol wants to do a giant rebuild or has some evil plan in mind to upgrade what he just got rid of this year (which I absolutly belive he can't do).

Carroll is just simply overrated.  He would have been fired years ago if Russell Wilson wasn't drafted by the Seahawks.  They were ready to hand the keys to the franchise to Matt Flynn in 2012.

He had a great thing going until he forced it in the SB and has been going down hill since. He has skills, even with bad drafting and poor trades he still got into the playoffs until last year. I don't think he is close to BB and he sure did luck in plenty but he was a good coach for a nice window.

I loved to beat the guy and I hated to lose to his teams until 2016 when it stopped mattering.

    • Right and I think we can have a conversation about that. But even with the scheme he should still be able to muster more than 1.5 sacks right? I mean DJ Johnson played in Evero's scheme too but that didn't stop us from calling him a bust. Scourton didn't seem to have trouble flashing. There can be different things true at one time.
    • I assume you are quoting my still. If so, I don't know what your argument is since mine was simply showing a play where Bryce scored a TD against the Rams in the playoffs where another poster used a similar still of Herbert's line to defend his poor performance last night. Like I said, Herbert is a better QB but Bryce wins the game last night for the Chargers. It simply is something he does better than Herbert and would play to his strengths. Someone even said earlier Chargers only win 1 or 2 games this year if Bryce was their QB which is so absurdly laughable it wasn't even worth trying to address. I mean this thread is literally called "Bryce Young is the worst QB in Panther's History" so I understand there is no objective arguments to be had here but I found that amusing.
    • I think his knee would make a good reason to switch to guard IF he returns.  Half don't.  Half of those don't last too long.  The strain on a knee (320lb man) vs speed rushers is more substantial.  So I would keep him if I could on a small contract (he will make $17.5 in 2026 fully guaranteed) and think of him as a possible guard for the post Lewis/Hunt era.  Knee injuries in big men are not invitations to invest in them.
