Florio: Panthers understand they have to give up 3 firsts, another pick, and 1-2 (Chinn, Burns, Brown, Horn)

Were doomed if we DONT trade for him. Have you seen the guys playing QB for us lately?

lol you think Pickett or Willis is coming to save the day? Please. Spare me.

Naw…we aren’t that bad.  Man…this team will compete next season.  No need to panic at all

That’s waaaaay to much even if he wasn’t a serial sex offender. With no picks to improve the roster around Watson what even is the point? Unfortunately our owner and coach might be dumb enough to do it

Ya'll are overvaluing draft picks

Are you telling me you wouldn't trade Brown, Burns, and Horn for Watson?  Because those are our last 3 1st round picks.

Hell we had a stretch where our picks were Benjamin, Thompson, and Butler.  You telling me you wouldn't have traded those picks for a franchise QB?

There are other ways to improve your team outside of the draft, and a team with a franchise QB is almost always MUCH more aggressive and willing in free agency than a team without a QB.  It would absolutely be worth it, IF Watson never got in trouble again.

This is my exact argument. Draft picks are overrated

Watson is WAY overvalued here.  He isn’t that great.  What if he gets injured?  What if he leaves in 2 years?  Stupid shet.  This guy that hasn’t played is some how better than a 21 year old rookie?  How?  We don’t know what Watson even is atp.  Fug all this

Football is the ultimate team sport. However you must have a great QB to do anything. Watson would check that box and we could move on to filling the other holes. Wtf is the alternative? Drafting a jabroni like Pickett or Willis? fug that. Get one of the best in the entire world and then build around him. I’m tired of all this bullshit. Just get it done.

How would you move on to filling other holes? With 3rd and later picks? Or the plethora of free agents come to learn at the feet of the master Matt Fhule. Better get ready to renegotiate that contract for 75m a season in 3 years when he wants a new one or else he's leaving. That's if he's even allowed on the field because we all know what Roger Goodell says and what he does are to very different things when it comes to social media pressure. This trade will be worse than the Herschel Walker trade by a long shot.

Exactly.  I can't think of a single 3-year stretch where I'd take our 1st round picks over Watson (exc. Cam, obviously).  I'd even trade McCaffrey/Moore/Burns for Watson.

    • Completely agreed.  TBH, we have had so many great players that are in my favorite list, and I hate to narrow it down to one, but Cam is it.  Which is crazy, because you would think it would be more of the guys I grew up watching, but no.  Cam was the single most impactful player to ever out on a football uniform imo.  And like I said in an earlier post, I always felt a kinship with him in a lot of ways…  the way he was treated and judged for the off the field stuff in Florida and having to overcome all of that and fight show at back.  And although I am not a black man, I have always been welcomed by and accepted more by minorities, and thus, I know what it’s like to be judged by appearances rather than the content of your character and who you actually are.  I know what it’s like to be stereotyped and written off or mistreated for your mistakes.  I know what it’s like to be held to a different standard while your peers don’t have to meet that same standard.  So I always related to that.  And the way he came in and just electrified the whole franchise, man…  I still think about it often how much it sucks that because of how talented he was, our staff out so much on him and that ultimately cut his career short.  You’re right, there will never be another Cam…  I think Josh Allen is the closest thing we will see for a long time, but Allen is not the running threat Cam was.  Cam could run you over or around you.  That was THE absolute funnest time to watch our team ever.
    • It definitely needs more specificity than is baked in now.
    • The weirdest encounter I had with a pro athlete was waiting in line at security at Mile High Stadium when I used to get the company suite tickets almost every week because I was the only employee based in Colorado. There's a small checkpoint accessing the suites that virtually no one knows about that you can usually squirt right through. I was standing there and looked over my shoulder and there stands John fuging Elway waiting in line behind me.  This was during the The Golden Calf of Bristol season right before he became GM. I just said "They make YOU go through security?" He's like "Yeah, ain't that a bitch. I literally have a statue out front and I gotta go through security like everybody else." I've heard mixed things about him but he was super nice and down to earth with me that day.
