Kenny Pickett > Malik Willis (at least for us)

its not the HC's job to develop a rookie QB. Just a heads up.

It's his job to make sure that happens. It's his job to make sure he gets the right coaching and that he stays on track and gets from point A to point B developmentally. It's on his shoulders. The responsibility is his. The job is his.

I am not saying you are completely wrong but you should probably start warming up to these 2 dudes.  Just saying 1 is probably going at 6

Oh for sure. I'm not under any impression that what I want to happen will happen. If we draft either I'm prepared to rationalize it.

Trading down and adding talent at OL, taking advantage of this LB/edge class, and getting better overall is the best move if we're serious about winning and being a good team. The half measures and short cuts got us Sam Darnold, there's no reason to draft a guy LESS talented than him. Pickett definitely is, and Willis is more dangerous than Trey Lance. I just feel like we need to understand this.

Yeah, but…teams smarter than us have reached before for QB.  If we don’t get the LT then maybe but do you see Tepper waiting on QB when he supposedly loves Pickett?  Dunno man

For sure, you just have to hope that the accuracy he showed last year is here to stay and that his ability to go through his progressions quickly masks his lack of arm strength. You also don’t want him fumbling 38 times in 52 games…

If the accuracy doesn’t hold up then you are looking at Andy Dalton.

I don't think it's fair to knock his arm strength. It's good enough for the nfl. One of Watson's knocks coming out of college was people were concerned with his arm strength and accuracy and then he radar gunned a 49 mph which is pitiful. Fast forward to today people will say Watson can make every throw and has a strong arm. Not saying this guy is gonna be Watson, but half the people critiquing his arm strength were probably going reverse cowgirl crazy over deshaun's arm talent a couple days ago.

I honestly wouldn't hate the pick. I'd prefer we trade down if we are dead set on him, but it seems unfair a lot of us are predicting his career before it even starts. He's got heart and leadership. I think he can be good for us if we can take care of him.

All the QBs in this draft are half measures and guys Pete Carroll would draft, no thank you. Wait til next year when the talent is actually good. I'm begging yall to aim higher

Desperation is affecting objectivity and it's going to cause the team to settle. There are no QBs worth the pick.

Waiting till next year is the wise choice, but this team is desperate so it will reach.

Oh for sure. I acknowledge this and I'm prepared to deal with it. But the beat move is to trade down and add more talent or draft a great non qb prospect at 6 and wait til Stroud or Boston College QB are ready next year. I get it that they'd try and force a QB a year early.

Lots of Steeler fans and media are enamored with Pickett and want Pittsburgh to go get him.  Probably due to him being a local product but one article mentioned passing on him would be 1983 all over again.  A little over the top there

That's total homerism from the Pitt perspective. Plus, their situation is completely different than ours. They have a solid foundation with established players. We need talent and a QB with talent who can elevate the players around him. We should wait and organically draft a guy the way AFC teams have. There's no need to rush this poo

Yes Matt Rhule is literally worthless if he can't do some semblance of this. What exact job responsibilities is he left with if he doesn't? Poorly managing time outs and giving shitty press conferences isn't gonna cut it
