if it’s just a year or two and meaningless cap, key word meaningless - like cam got, who cares really

yea we could roll it over but it’s not that big of deal, this young team needs experience with at least a mediocre qb that won’t lose the game for them, I think there is a lot of value in that

i don’t see Rhule lasting after a 8 win season and if he does better and goes playoffs he deserves to stay imo despite all the pitchforks

They don't need experience being mediocre. They need experience with a head coach that knows how to get them to winning. That's absolutely not Matt Rhule.

Won't lose the game for them? Did you miss the last time Jimmy G was on the field?

You need to wait at least 2-3. After just a year, last year's super strong on paper QB class ain't looking so hot

Lance was always talked about as a project. Lawrence ended up with disaster Meyer and Fields got stuck with a recently fired head coach himself too. Wilson had a little better luck with the Jets and they somehow have a better QB room than us and they have our draft picks. I don't see how we are in any position to hold our nose at any other rookie quarterbacks considering how scared we are to draft one of our own but go off if it makes ya'll feel better.

I'm not talking smack about last year's class. My point was that it takes more than one season to judge a draft class.

I don't want us to substitute one lame ass QB with another. He's not an answer and if he's not an answer I'm not interested.

My fear is that they would treat him like he was the answer and I just don't want any part of that.

They dug their hole with Darnold, for all I care they can rot in it until we wise up and get a HC who won't fug up.

There's not a vet answer available and there isn't going to be one this year.

Either we draft one or (more preferable) roll with who we've got and fix the damn OL.

Garoppolo is way better than Darnold. San Fran sucked before he got there even with Shanahan

they need experience in confidence which is hard when you have no chance, yes they do need a HC and I’m sure they’re well aware Rhule is on the hot seat

i was comparing to Darnold and comparing to cam who also stunk, G would be better than either that’s pretty obvious

also comparing to options…I’d rather draft and olineman and pay G nothing to probably not doing anything than draft from this group of turds and go qb next year than do something dumb like take Pickett

Or you could just hold your nose for a season, keep that money you'd be wasting on Jimmy G or on a QB in the draft and eventually it just works itself out naturally.

I am not anti-Jimmy G, I am anti giving Rhule enough time to send us further into Browns purgatory.

    • No saying he mostly sucks is saying that he doesn’t suck the minority of the time.   Like if he took 17 tests and had a couple of really good showings and a handful of pretty good scores sprinkled in among the typical sub par results.   Like a golfer who went out and shot an 89.  There will be some real nice shots sprinkled in there but at the end of the day it is still 89.
    • It's worth mentioning... Game 1: Oct 11 in Raleigh. 4-3 OT win with a complete starting lineup. Game 2: Dec 13 in Philly. 4-3 SO win without Jaccob Slavin. Game 3: Dec 14 in Raleigh. 3-2 SO win with a complete starting lineup. Game 4: Apr 13 in Philly. 3-2 SO loss with the AHL roster.  Those early season games were no indication of the Canes team that finished the season. Miller and Ehlers were still trying to figure things out, Nikishin was still a work in progress and the Stankoven line was just another line. Make no mistake, the Canes team Philly will see is nothing close to what they saw at any point in the season. If the top line starts producing, Freddie stays hot and the blue line does what it does, this could be a sweep as well.
