Yep. Fandom aside I think Kansas wins Monday but holy poo the last month of Carolina basketball has been insane. What a way to send Coach Krybaby out.

I think I'm still in shock. I told buddies going into this tournament that this team can beat anyone but they can also lose to anyone. I could see a run to the Elite 8 or I could see a 1st round 20 point loss. That's what has made this so absolutely stress free for me prior to running into duke. I had no expectations. Just enjoying every game for that moment. I never in my wildest dreams saw this team in the Final Four much less the championship game. I've never seen a team snap their fingers and wake up and turn it on like this.

I'm just so happy UNC handed Duke it's most embarrassing season ever and that Duke didn't surpass UNC in number of championships during K's tenure. Would just be cherry on top for UNC to win and end up having more.

I thought it was so tacky (but yet so completely fitting) that Coach K had to announce his retirement a year in advance so he could have a yearlong farewell tour. Absolutely no better way for that farewell tour to go than for him to lose his final home game and final regular season to UNC absolutely ruining his curtain call. Then for UNC and duke to have their first NCAA tourney match up in the Final Four and UNC sending his ass packing into retirement. The ONLY way for it to have been better is if tonight had been for all the marbles.

This was a epic battle. This was the show I expected. This is why its the best rivalry in sports and boy did we show the world why it is tonight. But for the Heels to come out on top. GDTBATH. But also this is the end of a era that is as old as me but this game may have ignited this rivalry more because duke will never let this go. But Coach K has been a great coach.

The homer in me says we win, but the ride has already been worth admission this season is already a massive success  regardless of Monday's  outcome.

    • Nfl leaders don't look at the population of just the city itself.  Charlotte has three of the top fifty combined statistical areas within a 1 to 1.5 hour drive.  Charlotte, Greensboro/WS/High Point, and Greenville Spartanburg.  Those three statistical areas include nearly 7 million people.  Other than Raleigh, the only one in the top fifty within an hour and half of raleigh is Greensboro.  So only about 4-5 million people.  Charlotte has many more people to draw from.   Also, many of the surrounding communities for Raleigh are not native born.  If memory serves, many still refer to Cary as Containment area for relocated Yankees.  One of the reasons the Canes do so well is a significant portion of the population are people who moved from Northern Areas.  Would that population translate into support for a NFL team?  Hard to say, but I see a tremendous amount of Giants/Jets jerseys in the triangle when I forced to endure the crazy traffic on 40/85.
    • This will also be prime Training Camp meltdown time on here lol. Preseason game 1 August 8th, i'm guessing camp starts around July 25-27th
