"The part that pisses me is off is when people judge my game, like how I'm playing," he said. "Then I'm like, 'Go strap it up.' 'You're a fan and I respect you as a fan. You can talk all the s--- you want, I'm not going to do anything at the end of the day, but take it easy.'

"What if I was like, 'The house you just worked on, piece of sh--. You're so bad at tiling. You should really go get another job. Really think about your profession.' Sometimes you want to say stuff like that, but you can't."

Problem is, Sam, if that worker was as bad at his job as you are at yours he wouldn’t get 18 million no matter if he was fired.
He would have just been fired.
Sounds like the dude can’t take criticism.

Woof.

That was quite the statement from Sam Delusional.

Maybe that's his new last name now?

In listening to that whole interview and then reading the notes of it on ESPN it seems like Darnold feels insulted because people are not happy with his play anywhere. I don't feel like it is insulting when a fan says he stinks and wants him gone. If they brought his mother or girlfriend or some stupid insults into it I would understand. Maybe people have and I've missed it but for fans to pay huge amounts of money to go to games in the first place or take time each week to invest in the team that have every right to say his subpar play throughout his career is unacceptable and then want him gone.

I'm sure he is a nice guy but I want him gone as well. I personally don't feel like he has the mental tools to be an effective QB and he seems injury prone behind any type of line that isn't world class. I guess put me in the category of jerk fan because I don't want him here and do not think his skill set transfers over to be an NFL starting QB.

Also, what in the world did they have him on for? Must have been a slow day or they got turned down by many others players to have brought Darnold on the show. Correct me if I'm wrong but he does not seem like the most interesting interview or one filled with charisma and energy. His words pretty much explain and define exactly why his career has been such a disappointment to this day. And what in the world did he mean when he said that he thinks he has proven to be a good QB in the league? Did we all miss something here or did he play in some other games that we never saw either with the Jets or the Panthers?

a good random play here or there….isn’t playing QB at a high level in the NFL.  He is the poster child for bad QB play in the NFL.

it’s delusion.  They should just cut him.

Calm down man, no one is wanting him here. No reason to bust a blood vessel over it.

Sam is a chill guy, a shame he sucks as a QB, seems like a really good person.

You 100% sure he sucks, even with his 1st competent offensive line?

I know the answer is probably yes, but there were glimmers.

Yes. He has not developed since his rookie year, he has regressed.

Yeah. For sure. I get it.

No chance it comes together with time to throw?  I agree he might be terrible but I generally wonder about QBs that were never in a winning situation.

To be honest, even if he did put together a decent season, I don't think he's a franchise QB.

A franchise QB in today's NFL is going to command the highest salary, so he's going to have to uplift the players around him. It's not going to be enough to be even-keel and one of the boys, they have to be respected leaders that make everyone around them better. I don't think Sam has that.

Could he be a decent back-up if you have a QB that might be at a higher risk for injury due to whatever the reason may be (ie: smaller sized-QB, runs often, OL is porous, etc)? Possibly... but I just don't see him as the guy that's going to inspire everybody around him to Keep Pounding.
