2020 > 3-7 w/o Jimmy G.

'17/'18/'20 > 7-27 (.206) w/o Jimmy G.

'17/'18/'20 > 9-6 (.600) w/ Jimmy G.

'19/'21 > 27-12 (.692) w/ Jimmy G. fully available, includes a Super Bowl and 2 NFC Championship games, as well as multiple playoff wins against Whiny Aaron.

Jimmy G. is the epitome of a difference maker...

...the anti-Darnold if you will -- Panthers could use a some of that 🏆👊

Wins the job? From who, a rookie?  If Jimmy G is here, he will be the starter, period! If we win 9 games, so be it! Unlike some, I'm not going to cry over wins. You play and deal with what comes about regardless like you do every season. Pros are NOT going to tank. Nobody's going into the season with the mindset to lose.

Its pointless.  Theres just a bunch a huddlers who are in tank-the-season mode already...so much that they can't see the difference between JimmyG and Sam.

Yes, it's really outlandish if one really reflects upon it; they're in tank-the-season-mode in April (March, February, January...). I would've said "unbelievable", but I'm not surprised--or shocked, really considering the world we live in today.

Its just seething-Rhule-hate.  They hate Rhule more than they want the Panthers to win.  This narrative...that it is impossible to get a good QB in the draft unless you absolutely suck.... just isn't supported by history.  They know it.  Its not about a QB.  Its about getting rid of the coach.

There's no reasoning with them.

The years he was on the roster are pretty misleading. He is a mid level QB. Their backup is obviously worse, so when the starter gets hurt (which apparently he does a lot), the team is going to be worse.  If he was such a difference maker Kyle and Lynch wouldn’t have traded 3 first round picks to move up and grab Lance so they can replace him. If he was such a difference maker there would be a bidding war like their was for Watson. So he will get traded one of the last teams standing for lower picks because he is just a mid level injury prone QB…

Why do people want to be the Jets or Jags...or even the Browns circa 2014

There is one theory they don’t want to be stuck in the middle constantly out of reach for the next top QB. Similar to the Colts lately, but you can always trade up and grab one, it’s just very pricey (see the Niners for Lance).

    • Is right now the worst time in the history of Charlotte pro sports? The Hornets (formerly Bobcats) have been a dumpster fire since rejoining the NBA 20 years ago. The Panthers were a respectable but frustrating team before David Tepper bought the team, but now they are easily the worst team in the NFL. Charlotte only has 2 sports teams so it's unfair to compare to every other city in the country with a Big 4 pro sports team, because when you have all 4 of even 3, you tend to have one franchise that ends up being successful. If we're taking into account the Hurricanes and ranking NC's pro sports teams as a whole, the Hurricanes make everything look better in NC pro sports. But just taking into account cities with an NFL and NBA team, and excluding their respective NHL and MLB teams, in the last 5 years, Charlotte easily takes the crown for the worst city for pro sports. The only other city coming close is Detroit since the Pistons have been awful, but the Lions were in the NFC Championship last year and should probably have made it to the Superbowl if it weren't for some questionable coaching decisions. Indianapolis could be mentioned because the Colts and Pacers have had a somewhat rough go the last 5 years, but both the Colts and Pacers have had more recent success than either the Panthers or Hornets. Sadly enough I think the Panthers have a better shot at success than the Hornets since the NBA is structured more towards star player driven success and the NFL is a team driven sport where there is more parity year to year. But I'm fairly confident this level of misery will continue for some time.
    • This seemed to be what the Teppers wanted, as Stroud hit the ground running and the Texans became his team almost day one. I hope Bryce's play starts to speak for itself if he isn't very vocal, because it does make a difference. I mean, Cam had to jack up Josh Norman who was a fifth round pick in the coach's doghouse in year five! I wonder what Bryce would do in a situation like that. Thank goodness there was no Steve Smith here when he was drafted!
