No worries bro lol both ashamed I didn't know that and impressed as hell 🤣

Yeah I always remembered Gross as a sub 5 guy but he ran a 5.05. I was like holy crap Ichy is 28 lbs more going a bit faster lol. No shame in any of that lol

The more I see about him the more I love the pick, and it’s not just homerism.  If your offensive linemen are tough, smart, and love the game, they’ll usually be great.  He has all of those traits plus awesome athleticism.  Pretty sure offensive linemen have the highest overall Wonderlic scores on average.  Not that it means a ton, but at least they’re not stupid, and Ickey is about as smart an OT that’s been drafted in a while.

The way he’s been described makes me think of a Norwell-type who is better, and plays tackle.  We lost the White Buffalo, but hopefully we just got our Black Bison

We're going to fight now 🤬

😂 I haven't been shy about it, Scot.  I know you have always loved the big ugliest, and I always appreciated them, I just never liked the idea of using our first rounder on them. I knew it was sometimes necessary, but especially in the infancy years of the huddle, I just preferred to either sign guys or find late round gems and use the first rounders for the big splash/playmaker/sexy picks.  I wanted production that was quantitative.

But boy oh boy...  let me tell you how much my mind has changed since those days😂.  Seeing a generational talent get destroyed and effectively have his career/peak shortened definitely hastened my shifting perspective.  We needed a franchise tackle, and if that takes the first pick, you go get them...  and we did.  Couldn't be happier.

I never dreamed he would be available to pick. Out of all top 3 tackles, I assumed he would be gone no matter what by 6, so last night was a slam dunk. It’s going to be so fugging satisfying to not cringe every game at our line. We have a certified stud who has potential through the roof. We are going from the worst starting LT in the league to one of the best

    • Yeah, Walker from Wes and Walker radio show said something about this trade went through but Mark Williams couldn't pass a physical. I just shook my head. lol
    • UNC's football relevance has always basically been, "Hey, remember how great our basketball program is?" To extent that has worked but they have never been able to capitalize on that towards being a legit ACC power. The closest was Mack Brown 1.0 and that was stopped by prime Bowden FSU. TBH, they should have utilized all these resources they just poured into Belichick into, IDK, a legit college football coach? This is one of the more insane uses of that kind of money I have seen in CFB, which is no stranger to insane, irresponsible uses of money. The SEC and Big Ten have already shot themselves in the foot. The model they are operating on only works if TV revenues continue to go up. Well, demographics aren't working in their favor. Economics either, TBH. The NIL didn't change very much, if you notice. The haves still have and the have nots don't. The only difference between pre-NIL and NIL was the money being below the table and above it. College athletics has never at any point been about fairness. It's the most dramatically unequal system in all US atheltics. My only hope is that the collapse is swift, dramatic and most importantly SOON. I would like to see the rebuilding of this all to something closer to what it was 40-50 years ago. Regional and not such money grubbing nonsense.
    • Meh Dalton looks washed. He was good for at least 1 entertaining game a year but Im not sure he even has one of those left at this point. His game style and old age hasn't been a good combo IMO.  Not going to compare him to Hooker because Hooker is another longshot to ever be worth a #2 spot. At least he isn't Plummer I guess. Young better stay healthy or they could go backwards in wins with those 2 options this year.
