If you say so. You really think he is not athletic?

He’s athletic… he’s very mobile… he has a great pocket awareness… that doesn’t make him an elite athlete though.

Its unlikely he’ll run for 50 yards a game, it’s unlikely he will escape sacks like a Mahomes or Allen (he does throw the ball away better than any QB in this class though, it sounds dumb but I’ve seen on multiple occasions when he’s under duress and without looking he knows exactly where his receiver is and manages to throw it in their vicinity out of bounds to avoid a sack).

I think his athleticism is on par with Tagovailoa’s. Not elite, slightly above. The issue that I’ve listed multiple times is that the QB’s that run the RPO the most are all very elite athletes and have very elite arm strength.

We can’t seriously sit here and say that Corral is on par with Mahomes, Allen, and Herbert when it comes to athleticism and arm talent.

Honest question.  Have we seen Corral make reads and work through progressions? Literally every highlight I see is RPO and timing throws. He excels at it, but in the NFL you have to be more than that

You can’t have this opinion, you can only support Lord Rhule and the Panthers in everything and I mean everything that they do.

Not to mention half his game is gone at the NFL level because the running and hits he got away with in college won’t translate to the pros. Look I’m rooting for the kid but I also have realistic expectations for a 3rd round QB in a down draft.

I think Corral is a solid athlete. Not Mahomes or Allen, slightly behind Herbert but better than Tua. The issue is he isn’t durable (like Tua).

And Corral has great ARM TALENT… as in he can make most of the NFL throws and has good touch as a well as an elite release… he does not have ELITE ARM STRENGTH. I watched the Willis and Corral game live in person and I could verify with my own eyes that he had a decent amount of under throws.

Under throws don’t always equate to lesser arm strength. Timing, feet, pressure etc can lead to this. Corral has shown he can launch it down when needed. I watched him thread some needles and there are highlights of him launching it 50 plus yards with his feet set. It’s not on Willis’s level but I don’t think any QB in this or possibly last (Maybe Zach Wilson) we’re on par with Wills. Willis is going to have a top 5-10 arm in the NFL (just for strength) right away. Corral excels at processing and making quick reads, quickly getting the ball to his playmakers hands ( with his insane release). That should be a nice fit for our WCO. He also can extend plays and quickly set his feet with his “twitchiness” similar to young Brees (not saying he is Brees just similar in that trait). If he can get the mental aspect of playing QB in the NFL he will be solid. He showed a huge jump last year in decreasing turnovers which leads me to believe he is pretty coachable and smart. Lastly he will need to bulk up and protect his body. I’m college he fights through contact which was why he was constantly injuring his ankles. In the NFL that will cause a much more severe injury.

Well at least this board can FINALLY all agree on our QB and ... oh wait ... nevermind. Another year of 50/50 QB love and hate. Keep on keeping on, Huddle.

I'm excited for Corral. I don't expect him to be incredible but I 100% expect him to beat out Darnold and anything else is just a plus.

He did it briefly at Ole Miss, but not nearly enough to show he can do it at the next level. This plus protecting his body/bulking up will be his two main obstacles to overcome in the NFL IMO.

I hate seeing all the negativity surrounding this kid already.
People already declaring him a career backup before he plays a snap.
How about we wait and just see what happens?
Maybe he’ll surprise us. If not there is always next year. But something tells me the coaching staff won’t force him out there till he is ready.

Don't worry, most of the negative nancys are already registering on a Titans board. They'll be posting less and less.

Seriously. 77 yards in the air 4 years ago after H.S. is a total rag arm.

I think his arm strength is ordinary for the NFL as in not out of place. What I’ve been saying is that all the QB’s that excel in a heavy RPO system have cannons (Mahomes, Allen, and Herbert).

If the Panthers don’t coach the kid up and instead tailor the offense to him then I don’t think he’ll have a successful career. The QB’s that are running RPO’s right now are just built different than Corral.

Are we really doing this… it was one throw… can you do that after playing a whole game?

Not one scout has said that he has elite arm strength. He’s got great arm talent and an elite release. His arm strength is ordinary by NFL standards and simply put the QB’s that are running RPO’s at a high level have better arms (Mahomes, Allen, and Herbert). The one QB who also runs RPO’s a lot who doesn’t have elite arm strength is Tua… we can all see how that situation is going.

If you truly think that Corral’s arm strength is on par with Mahomes, Allen, and Herbert then we have nothing to talk about because we won’t see eye to eye.

77 yards.

Dude has a rocket launcher for an arm. He throws farther than Malik!

It was one throw… without going through a game… I’d venture 80% of the QB’s in the NFL can throw the ball 70 yards if you give them time to loosen up their arm and tell them to throw the ball as far as they can while not having to worry about the next throw.
