The 33rd Team names three NFL teams that are "stuck in neutral"

This is not surprising. There are pages of Huddle threads that support this assumption.  Darnold is the albatross hanging around the front organization’s neck.

Corral was a deliberate and rational decision for trying to correct that long term.  I’m happy to embrace the suckage and hope we can climb out of this.

I wouldn't say they are contradictory statements.  They were hard to play against until the weakness was figured out.  As is the case with most speed defenses, running right at them can yield big gains.  That was figured out in game 4.

The catch is not every team is equipped to run at the opposing defense.  We were still hard to play against for those offenses that rely primarily on speed and finesse.  Those are the offenses that often get throttled in the playoffs, which probably ought to be a sign to our coaching staff/front office.

Speed is a great asset in the NFL.  But, there come times when you simply need to line up and out-muscle the opponent on either offense or defense.  We haven't done that very well for a few years.  We might some improvement this year on offense if our OL shows improvement.  The defensive side of the ball remains a mystery to me in that respect.

Straight up truth.

If you think we are bummed out, imagine what the players must think having to go out there with Darnold under center again.  They must be asking themselves WTF is going on...

They are all extremely well paid and a lot of them enjoy that job, even if they lose. I would think this includes the ones that don't love the job or are staring at a contract year where this interferes with their chances.

Even on a bad team, it's a fun job that has a great minimum pay scale and all of them have been doing it a long time. Can't argue with them looking at it all and going WTF then switching over to ohh well.

Whoa...Riv sucking water...who woulda thunk it.... We've had a lot sht in CLT recently...

That can't be.  RR threw us on his back and took us to the SB.  Everything was stacked against him but his superior coaching made us great. /sarc

No poo, it will remain as long as Tepper is owner

TBF Mike Brown is often rated one of the absolute worst owners.  He goes beyond meddling, he makes himself GM and put family in key positions.  Their playoff win drought lasted from the early nineties to last year.

If you get lucky and land a HOF caliber QB all bets are off.   It carried the Bengals last year.  It carried RR his entire career here.

    • Idk man, I think it’s necessary.  There’s people working 9-5s everyday that get told poo about what they aren’t and what they’re not capable of and they’re working for scraps.  These guys are making millions.  People are watching and invested because their team and fandom is a part of their identity and a big source of pride.  When someone like Bryce comes in and is given chance after chance after chance after proving he is not worthy of the position he’s being gifted, and he continues to be the biggest reason above any that we are losing, yeah…  I think it’s fair to call a spade a spade.  Am I saying Bryce the person is trash?  Bryce the person is a piece of poo?  Absolutely not.     I came up in an era, especially in basketball, where if you were fuging up people heckled the poo out of you.  I played in rec leagues as a teen where the fuging parents were calling kids trash and yelling poo like “TURNOVER!!!  TURNOVER!!!”  “CANT DRIBBLE!”  “CANT SHOOT!”  And that’s adults screaming that poo to kids like we were in the fuging Rucker lol.🤣🤣🤣  I went on to play basketball at a collegiate level and with professional players in different settings.  What those experiences as a kid taught me was to see if there is any merit to what people are saying, and if there is, then work my ass off til they can’t say that anymore.  Come back better, tougher, harder.  And I did.  If kids can figure that poo out, an adult calling another adult who is bad at his job while making millions and millions of dollars will be just fine.
    • I have tried to like this team, lord knows I have tried. BY9 is a nice young man, if I had a daughter he can take her to prom, but he ain't QB1 and he's not Cam or Delhomme Chuba is a average RB, he isn't Stephen Davis, he isn't J-Stew McMillan has the makings of a good WR, but he isn't 89/Moose D. Brown is a great player, but if the game was on the line I want Kris Jenkins       I miss this brand of football, even in the bad Jake games the games were entertaining It has been nearly 8 years now of watching numb football
    • I'm not so sure. Something about the whole Frank/Bryce situation seemed off from day 1. Bryce didn't fit Frank's QB mold as well as Stroud, then he basically gives up when Bryce is named starter in preseason but gets virtually no reps in games. Then he looks completely unprepared and Dalton steps in in Seattle, has a decent game under immense pressure, and it's right back to Bryce. All his mechanics are terrible and he's having the worst rookie season ever and Frank doesn't bench him?  You dont have to be a conspiracy theorist to know Bryce wasn't ready to be a day 1 starter. Everything with Bryce, then coaches, and the FO seemed forced.
