Tepper involved ?

Thought I heard that. On the one hand it's not a good thing for owners to get involved at that level, on the other no one trusts Rhules personnel decisions after last year so maybe that's a situation where Tepper will side with Fitt and McAdoo if Rhule is being stubborn.

Biggest Revelations

Mayfield will wear #6, which means Johnny Hekker will wear #4 or #13...or #1 😐

Baker has relatives in both Spartanburg and Charlotte, so he's heard about the heat.

He hasn't eaten at Bojangles yet.

And lastly, no Progressive commercials in BOA. Baker pitched the idea but it was rejected (damn it) 😠

so are they saying anything?

can't watch.

The thing that I zeroed in on was Baker apparently believing (or knowing) that he will have more "freedom" at the line to audible and counterpunch based upon what the opposition is trying to do.

The owner should never be involved in those kinds of decisions.

I doubt he will be.

Fitterer's comment just sounded like kind of an offhand thing to me, i.e Tepper will be around for stuff but I seriously don't he'll have any involvement in depth chart or playing decisions.

He was allowed to do this in college, from what I hear stefanski wanted the offense ran how he wanted and didnt give him a lot of freedom to audible.

People are gonna be looking for a "gotcha" moment but there really wasn't one.

The only thing I heard that people could potentially pick up on was a dismissive comment where he said something like he doesn't really care about people's negative opinions.

Should he?

Maybe, maybe not. Tepper is giving me more and more wannabe Jerry Jones vibes.

Not really.

But ya know how it goes...

I suspect that he has a serious problem with criticism though based upon his responses about only caring what people in the building think.

Isn't that kinda how Newton was too, though?

I would add that he mentioned he already knows Campen's O-line terminology/protections so that's half the battle really. Now it's just translating the playbook.

    • BPA in draft all the way. Address your biggest needs in free agency.
    • Exactly.  You let him play out next season and continue to develop Thorton.  Jackson’s earned his next contract, but his age and the risk of tying up such a large portion of the payroll at one position leads me to believe that we’ll let him walk. In all likelihood, we’ll draft another CB, or two, and bring in some journeymen to fill the roster void, between now and the start of the 2027 season.  That’ll create more balance financially across the roster enabling us to invest in other areas.
    • As far as the NFCS … I think this division will be hotly contested the next couple of years.   I am tending to pay more respect to both Atlanta and the Saints n terms of how strong they will be moving forward, than not.    I am mixed on Ryan but think they have a decent roster to start with. I don’t think he blundered hiring Stefanski. And that offense can be dangerous with a QB. Plus, defense is arrow up. No 1st round pick, WB issues will dull their effectiveness. Question is, to what degree?   I think Moore is going to be a good HC and can overcome tape that people have on Shough. They need a lot but they were playing with people. Just the way you want to see all the way to the end.    Not sure about Tampa they have Mayfield but I don’t think they can maintain their success and Bowles is not going to last much longer. They have to go through all that. Gonna be tough once it starts. Might already have started.    For us I feel pretty good about Morgan. But less so about our offense, we have some short term RB and OL issues and those things are critical given what we are working with at QB.  Overall, mixed. Like a lot of what I see but some major question marks remain.
