I doubt he will be.

Fitterer's comment just sounded like kind of an offhand thing to me, i.e Tepper will be around for stuff but I seriously don't he'll have any involvement in depth chart or playing decisions.

Then what is gained by saying it at all?

So has anybody heard exactly what Baker's incentives are?   I'm just curious how likely it will be to earn that money back.

I heard on a podcast, can’t remember which one, but they are based on performance/team success. I think reaching playoffs were one of them but not 100% sure.

For those judging Baker based on whether the Browns wanted him anymore.  Its complicated.

The Browns believed Watson was a better QB than Baker.  Watson is better than 90% of the QB's in the league  and he's young.

The Browns enter the Watson sweepstakes.
Baker asks to be traded.
The Browns declined the request.
Then the Browns guarantee their offer and get Watson.
The Browns agree to Bakers request.

This is not the same as us picking Teddy up as a homeless FA, or the Jets dumping Sam for an unkown rookie, or using bring Cam back for nostalgia.

Exactly.  Baker demanded the trade to happen and wasn't going to back down from it.  The Browns believed they had a once in a generation chance to acquire a top 5 young franchise QB so they went all in on him.  I personally think the Browns are idiots because of Watson's off the field issues but that's their problem now.

They wanted more adult issues.  They got them.

We're shopping him.  I don't think there will be any takers, but if we eat enough of the salary who knows.

Every source, including Fitterer himself today, says we're not.

Fitterer also said teams aren't inquiring about him.

More on  McAdoo:

“He’s coached some of the most efficient offenses in NFL history—some of the most prolific teams. And looking at ’em, there’s ability at the line of scrimmage to take advantage of matchups and take advantage of how teams are really schemin’ you up. And luckily, for us, I think that fits very well with our position group, our offensive line. Be able to take advantage that we have so many skill players who are extremely talented. It’s the freedom at the line to be able to let a defense try and guard us a certain way and dictate where we’re gonna go after that. So I’m excited about it. I’m excited about the possibilities we’ll learn about each other during training camp.”

...they are idiots...I know... Watson on the verge of missing 2 whole seasons...you don't just pop back up in the top 5 after that... thank God we missed that mess...

    • Just going off the draft sims and he's always sitting around 20 lol. First year in a while where we haven't been thinking about the draft already in late October so haven't really looked into the top 15-20 picks yet. Also the qb class is super weak so he probably will sneak up into 10-15
    • I fully expect them to pick up his 5th year , and they're waiting for him to put a full excellent consistent season of QB play in year 4 or 5. If that don't happen,  they'll eventually cut ties.  Here's to hoping he just goes on a team in 2026. The worst thing he could do is continue to see-saw us to around .500 records because it might be impossible to replace him at that point unless youre willing to do the veteran qb carousel poo we did from 2019 to 2023.
    • What do you think of Bryce Youngs career thus far? Are you excited about his progress or is it not enough for you? I included a poll of ranking his performance through 3 years thus far.  I personally think he's made some decent progress. Has had some high moments (last half of 2024, Rams game, ATL game in 2025)  but in my mind, those are still outweighed by the many more lowlights thus far (ex turnovers, missed throws, poor decisions)  It's a very mixed bag for me. He's done enough to get a 5th year option but by no means should we lock him in with a 50+ mil a year multi year deal. I want to see him play consistently well for a full year before that happens (yes, I'm still saying that going into year 4. That might be telling).  Just sucks when you see CJ Stroud, Jayden Daniel's, Caleb Williams almost immediately lighting poo up with their arm talent. Maybe Bryce is just an ultra slow burn. I don't know what to think anymore. Guess we're gonna be stuck with him for a whilr unless we end up being bad enough to earn a high pick next year. I doubted it lol. Overall Stats for his career:       ● 14 W - 30L (regular season)       ● 0-1 playoffs record        ● 61.4% completion, 8291 passing yards, 49 TDs, 30 INTs  Year 1:       ● 2 wins, 14 losses      ● 60% completion rate, 2877 passing yards, 11 TD to 10 INTs, 5.5 yards per attempted pass Year 2:        ● 4 wins , 8 losses        ● 60.9% completion rate,  2403 passing yards, 15 TD, 9 INTs,  6.3 yards per attempted pass  Year 3:        ● 8 Wins, 8 Losses         ● 63.6% competition rate, 3011 passing yards, 23 TDs to 11 INTs  Playoffs         ● 1 game in year 3 ( 0 - 1 in playoffs)         ● 21/40 (52.5% completion rate), 264 passing yards, 1 TD, 1 INT.
