Odd that you say that, but I was wondering why the Panthers didn’t reach back out to Bouye with all the injuries that we’ve recently had at the CB position. Guy knows our team, how we operate, and had a decent year last year…. yet, the Panthers keep bringing in random ass kids from Pembroke and Appy.

Hey! Tae Hayes was one of the best corners in the USFL in Spring. Is he undersized? Yes. But who else was undersized and came from the USFL to the Panthers? Hint: he's now in the Hall of Fame.

Suck it.

So now Hayes is Sam Mills… good God.

Was Sam Mills Sam Mills before he became Sam Mills? Obviously not.

The point is that you never know what someone is going to be and Hayes had an interception in his first practice running with the ones I believe.

He was solid at App as well which is slowly becoming a DBU of sorts at the G5 level, seeing several guys get to the league and bounce around a bit. Obviously it's less than what P5's put out but for a school still semi transitioning from FCS, it's not bad.

Let’s wait until he plays a few preseason games before drawing comparisons to HOF’ers.

The Panthers are Hayes’ fifth team and he’s yet to break into the league, we might need to pump the breaks a bit.

We had 11 draft picks in 2021 and most made the team. We had a ton of 2020 rookies make the team. We had a shell of a team going into 2020, so of course we were among the youngest teams.

This discussion started with the laughable assertion that Rhule doesn’t like vets because he tried to get rid of JJ. Really? A long snapper is surely the position where age matters, I mean the wear and tear on LSs is worse than RBs.

C’mon, there’s countless other threads where Rhule has been labeled as a Rivera clone who doesn’t start rookies. So which is it, he likes vets over rookies or he likes rookies over vets?

All this hate for Rhule and blaming him for everything including the recession, has almost made me root for the guy.

Matt rhule pulled cmc’s hamstring.

    • I wonder if they'd consider trading Rasheed Walker to a team that needs tackle help but missed out in the draft?
    • LOL. This is such a Panthers fan take.  Anyone who falls to us must suck because some other team didn't take them before.  We got lucky with Lemon, Thieneman, and Freeling all falling to us (honestly any of the three is a A+) but the WR and S positions are much deeper than the LT position in this draft.  We got the LT w/ the most upside at 19.  Mauigoa played RT in college and some think he is a guard in the nfl.  Spano played RT in college and some think he is a guard in the NFL due to short arms.  Blake Miller played RT in college and is not as good as Freeling.  Proctor is a true LT but his ability to handle quick edge's worries me (see Icky).  Freeling is a true LT and a gifted pass protector.  Many think he has a very high ceiling and will benefit from not having to start right away.  This is how you build a franchise.
    • After watching Cam get killed for years behind a bad Oline and having to watch the 2021 and 2023 Olines I will never complain about this team putting resources into that spot.  We got a true LT who could really push Rasheed Walker for the day 1 job. Go back and watch Iceky's draft profile from 2022 and all the talk was Ickey would be an all-pro guard in a zone blocking scheme, but he could play LT in a gap power run scheme. That's why Ickey looked really good when Wilks took over and we just started running gap run plays and just mauled people up front but under Canales we've been more of a zone running team. Ickey can survive at LT with his pass blocking but his true strength will always be his ability to just move guys in the run game and that's a skill set that's better used at guard.  Take another OT later on day 3 to learn from Moton to take over RT in a couple of years and let Walker and Freeling battle it out for the day 1 LT job then next offseason trade one of Hunt of Lewis and let Ickey move inside to guard.
