Honestly, unless he gets a lot better really quickly Brady Christensen should probably be the week one starter at LT.

I agree. BC looked very good mirroring his opponent in some of the film from camp. I’d feel best about

BC - Ekwonu - Elflein - Corbett - Moton

Honestly, Ekwonu's skill set seems better suited at OG right now. That's not to say he won't develop into a LT but we need to be focused on fielding our best five guys right now and if that means Ickey at OG so be it.

Until Ickey refines his technique and learns to be less aggressive pass blocking.... This is a fine line.... It doesn't make him a bust he's still the LT of the future... and an all pro guard this season.

Key words here, He can be an all pro guard this season and move back to LT next year and according to the toons here he would be a bust.

Both of Ickeys bad plays were stunts..... That's somthing just having a capable C or QB to call protections can fix.

Yeah was pretty clear where he struggled. Rhule is dumb but not THAT dumb. he knows he needs reps so he has him out there learning. He’ll be in the film room learning this week

Rookie OTs have their good and bad plays. Even Jordan Gross had his. Still it's more about reps than skill at this point. The game is very fast right now and he needs time to let it slow down. The only real OT I've seen that was ready day one was Otah. It was the injuries that killed him not the talent because he had it in butt loads.

I will say this about icky. He like to lean into players before he has good hands. That second video is what happens when you don't control a guy and he's just as strong as you are. Can't always rely on your brutality because there are bad mofos in the NFL.

    • To me, this seems like they feel they aren't going to be competitive. I can't help but go back to Bryce. Good guy, but he doesn't inspire people to give it their all. He isn't a "leader" that people look to. There is no Smith, Delhomme, Kuechly, Cam, etc. coming in that door.  It has to be Bryce, but biologically speaking, how often is the shortest man in the room going to command the kind of respect that will drive people? It just isn't. That isn't how we are wired. That isn't how any living animal on Earth today is wired.  I just follow the science guys.
    • Vick's issue with Reid was that he couldn't take a hit, and he wouldn't go down. Otherwise he was pretty good much of the time.  Mahomes has a system that works. Mahomes doesn't become Mahomes elsewhere because not everyone can extract 125% of the ability of a specific player like Reid can. Kevin O'Connell is beginning to look like he has that ability as well but I'll need to see how he does with his Redshirt Freshman.  I also wonder how much of their playoff issue last year was related to the offense as a whole and not just Darnold. Fans don't really dive into the "why" things happen, they just see the what and complain about it.
