I'm not a Corral doubter. But holding up Matt Corral's rocky NFL debut and weak foot as evidence of failure of Rhule's coaching is dumb.

In fact it shows he was right to bring him along slowly. His job isn't to pave the way for a third round QB. It's to get an NFL team ready for a 17 game  NFL season.

His job was apparently some 7 year rebuild from the ground up.

reality is we have no direction or vision or really any evidence anything is being built.

Rhule frankly is just as far along building something as the day he was hired.

still just renting castoff vet QBs.  No team identity.   Trading away draft picks.  Poor coaching.  We just added a bunch redemption tour coaches for the most part being billed as a great staff.

playing for draft position is a hoax created by kids. tanking is not real.

Tanking is real.  It’s just not something actively done on Sundays.  Front offices tank teams though.   The Jets front office tanked them the last season Sam Darnold was there because it became evident they had to start over.

Tanking is not real. I will argue that to my death. You might give other players a shot to play and showcase what they've got if playoffs are shot, but no professional team will ever intentionally lose.

There's nothing you can say to sway my opinion on that, anyone that believes in tanking is either a kid or a conspiracy theorist in my eyes.

Agree to disagree.

as I said, I disagree with the notion that players and coaches ever attempt to lose a game.

But front offices tank seasons intentionally.  It’s just part of rebuilding once you hit a window where you actually want to rebuild.  If you know a new chapter is around the corner….it doesn’t make a lot of sense to retain certain players with big contracts, make moves for guys that technically could make you better today, win now players don’t end up making sense….and you don’t use up resources/cap/add players the new coach/GM wouldn’t want.   So you let guys go, you don’t add guys of substance and you allow your roster to get weak.   Jets did it Sam’s last year in NY.

His theory in college is awesome, take really athletic players that dont have positions and get them in your system and figure something out.  That poo just doesnt work in the nfl, they have to know how to actually play

Bro, you've been killing it lately! Props!

What if the coach admitted to it?

front offices definitely trade players away, encourage coaches to start others to see what they have. but never intentionally lose. I hate the word tanking, rebuilding is definitely real. but these kids that are like "tank for blank" are the actual worst.

I hear you, man. Rhule’s got at least another two years here, even if he goes 0–17.

I disagree with that, the fans would burn the stadium to the ground if Tepper kept Rhule after a winless season. No coach should ever survive a winless season with a job.
