BS: IF There's A Team That COULD Be This Year's Version Of The 2021 Bengals, It's The Carolina Panthers

Because literally every posts turns into the exact same people making the exact same post every time.  Every post devolves into the exact same point being made (rhule sucks we get it) no matter what the original post is or if it has anything to do with Rhule in general.  Not every single post has to turn into Rhule sucks.  Its ridiculous at this point.

Bringing up Matt Rhule is different than bringing up Joey Syle for example.  Some thought he sucked. But he was K. Given the nature of Rhule's position and role, he is simply going to be relevant in a lot of different discussions about the team.

90% of the board doesn't have faith in Rhule per the polling here.  Just accept that.  Rhule would get bashed less in reality if the loud 10% wasn't demanding respect in every thread for him because someone makes a silly comment and alludes to not having faith in him.

the huddle has always been the huddle.   And it has done pretty well given it has survived as we have gone into this heavy social media era of society.

Good for you Rayzor. (not sarcastic) That says something about your character.

winning cures all.

I agree with the premise, but not consolidating the redundant whining has made this place difficult to enjoy. A lot of good posters are gone, and a lot of posters that used to be good are now awful.

Dude there is being optimistic but then there is being realistic.  Being realistic about this team and franchise is not "constant negative bullshit".   Being optimistic for the sake of simply being optimistic is fuging retarded if you dont look at the big picture

Vegas has us at 6 wins for a reason

thank you...and losing has made it difficult to be a fan. it's just not fun for me to be a fan anymore. like i said elsewhere, i'm not ready to give it up completely but i'm not far from it.

if we were to start winning, though, things would get a lot better. maybe that will start happening this year, but we have no identity and no wins. when that happens things get bad. many people (myself included) thinks that with better coaching that this team could be better. we got a guy who did ok as a college coach who has only proved he makes mistakes running the team and an owner who is fumbling a lot as well. it's up to them to show that they are better than that. prove the doubters wrong and build a winning program. either they can or they can't...and it won't take years to do it. if they can't do it this year, they won't do it under this leadership.

6 wins is very realistic. 7 wins is optimistic. all of that is based on what we've seen from this team before and the schedule we're staring down now.

OK, this is the last I'm going to say about it. The part you're not getting is; there are people on this board that aren't Rhule fans, that have just gotten fed up with the same 15 posters, posting the same poo 200 times a day. Every thread is clogged with it. The panthers bot can't make a generic post without multiple embarrassing "Tepper read this!! Fire Fatty Fhule" comments.

It just gets old. If the 10% are loud then the other 90% are deafening.

In summary, I'm not sold on Rhule, but the redundant juvenile whining has grown tiresome.

Being optimistic is having the belief that if things go right we could make the playoffs.  We have studs on both sides of the ball and our team can cause problems for anyone.  Barring injury and bad play calling this team could make the playoff.  Once in the playoffs it's game on.

Being realistic (pessimistic) is basing everything you know off of last season.  Every team in the NFL changes and though some teams reload some may actually be worse than the previous season.  They were still a playoff team so a realistic (pessimistic) as I like to call them.  Says we are 100% going to lose because they were a playoff or Super Bowl team.   That mentality is just as bad as being optimistic.  The NFL is probably the best sport that every new season is a chance to make the playoffs.  Pick up the right free agents, draft well and get a couple of breaks.  2003 Carolina Panthers are a prime example.  WE got a couple of breaks, stayed healthy and played good football.  No one had us going to the Super Bowl at the beginning of 2003.  Not with Rodney Peete at the helm.

Another example of my point is AFC Champions Cincinnati Bengals. They were +15000 to go to the Super Bowl at the start of the 2021 preseason.  Based on the realistic (pessimistic) person they should have never been there because Vegas said so.

It comes down to what kind of fan you are.  I have always been and will always be optimistic right up to the game where we are mathematically eliminated.  Take 2004 (i believe) injuries destroyed our season.  Yet Carolina battled all season and it came down to the last week where we could have made the playoffs.  A pessimistic fan (and there were plenty) gave up when we started so poorly.

It depends on who you are.  Pessimistic or Optimistic.  Neither is right nor neither is wrong.

I AM 100% Optimistic

The line is certainly at 7... just an FYI.

I'll add this how many wins did vegas have us for in 2015?

This topic got off the rails quickly and is headed a completely different direction.

Anywho, it's a reach to compare Burrow and Baker. That said, if we have the healthy WR and RB group, a little luck with the line staying healthy where the rookie LT takes to it quickly, it shouldn't be a shitshow offense we saw last year or for large stretches of 2020. Thats worth a few wins as we let waay too many go last year with abominations on O.

The defense isn't poo either, thin as can be though up front. Part of the luck is having the right depth for the inevitable injuries. If things broke right, barstool isn't the only ones to think we have a punchers chance. Heard a few on the radio say we are a dark horse mostly cause of the defense, CMC, with the assumption that Baker is at least a top 20 QB. With the issues in ATL, no Peyton in NO, and the greybeards in Tampa getting hurt already, it could quickly turn into the another case where a sub 500 club could make it into the playoffs. The bucs are on Brady or bust for year 3. Father time will get to him someday, and if that's this year, the division is wide open.

Now it's a long shot, but so we're the bungles last year. Imo, it's all on Baker to make this work.

Like I said.

That is what makes the NFL so great.  The Cap makes teams lose players they can't afford and other team the chance to bring in new players.  If you bring in the right players and draft well and every team (the majority) believe that they can compete.

Barring major injuries and a couple of breaks you can will it all.

True.  Win the games we should win and win our division and we'll be in good shape.

Baker doesn't have to be Burrow.  He just has to run this team with confidence (something Sam never did) and get the ball to his playmakers.  We have quite a few of them.  The defense needs to stay healthy and the front office should be on the prowl for players that can shore up a group that needs it.
