Around the NFL

NBC Sports Washington's JP Finlay reports that Commanders RB Brian Robinson has been shot multiple times in a robbery attempt, noting that it is "non life threatening."

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported that Robinson is in "stable" condition in the hospital. Our best to Robinson and Robinson's family. We'll be updating this as we know more, but obviously there is no real indication yet of how long Robinson will be sidelined.

I'm not going to draw any conclusions from the preseason, but if Fields develops into a legit franchise QB, Horn better be a perennial all-pro, or we are going to have serious regrets.

But Sam Darnold was nice to Matt Rhule when he met him!

P.S. - And I love Jaycee, but I agree.  You have to figure out QB first with any roster if you want to win, and everyone but Rhule knew Darnold was trash.  Oh well...  but, imagine if Baker turns out to be our franchise guy, AND we have the premiere lockdown corner of the league in Horn...  I won't even care what Fields is doing.

I know everyone likes to bring up don't live in the past or whatever. Don't care, a true rebuild would have been keeping Teddy and drafting Fields. I like Baker but we have been paying close to full QB salary during this whole Rhule era and if he works out, back to paying $30M a year which was the opposite of what Fitt ranted on about pre draft

    • …is Brycen Tremayne with 108 yards. Not sure what that tells us but I imagine it’s some sort of gumbo consisting of the following: - Bryce can’t push the ball downfield  - contrary to what many were saying this offseason, the wr still needs a lot of work.  - we need Coker back badly.  - Brycen is pretty good! Congrats to that young man! Curious to hear other’s read on it. Was a pretty surprised to see he had more yards than anyone other than Tet and thought that was symptomatic of our issues on offense.
    • I don’t think many fans would have guessed the Chiefs and Ravens would be where they are right now. Same goes for some surprise packages like the Colts, I’m not sure many would have put money on them being top of their division after five weeks. It’ll be interesting to see if this continues!   Not necessarily. The Chargers have lost both starting OL and their 1st and 2nd choice RBs. They fell apart against Washington. The Broncos have just beat the Eagles, so they’d be my favourite in that division, but they are still only one win ahead of the Chiefs. All the Chiefs need is a couple of results to go their way and they’ll be right in the fight for the AFC East. I think that division is going to be very close and probably not a 12 or 13 win division like predicted. Unless of course the Broncos kick on.
