giving up on 2nd round picks 1 year in is not a model way to run your franchise

sounds like a more of a jag problem than panthers.....

jags got a new GM and it looks like he did not care for the last GMs picks......got rid of the first 2 in 2020.

im waiting until I heard the details, but its looking like another buy super low for a decent chance at high reward...

you have to ask yourself then, if they are on rookie deals and they have a rookie qb why?  Seems like we are missing something here

Never heard of him. I guess we balked at the Jets asking price for Mims lol. Hopefully this guy is another weapon. If this helps us in moving away from McCaffrey having 30 or more touches a game because we lack playmakers I guess I'll see how good he is. But our decision makers continuing to look for gold at the bottom of rosters like the Jets and Jags does make you scratch your head.

Have to wonder what we gave up. TMJ gone looking like writing on the wall at this point.

Yeah...not to say I told you so but...

remember last year's draft when we drafted this guy and I said we should have drafted an Olineman instead and most people here gave me poo about it?

Yeah....

Let's all take a moment and consider the Olinemen we could have had instead with the pick....

    • You are right--it was DC.  I remember talking to him at Belk in Albemarle one day--the Panthers were on a bye and they were (at the time) a disapointing 4-4.  I mentioned that the record was disappointing and he seemed to get a bit annoyed.  He dId not say anything.  I trying to suggest that we will get better, but I think he was pretty upset about it.  No hard feelings, but the man was simply trying to shop with his wife and this annoying jerk starts making comments about his job---I get it.  I apologized, telling him that I was trying to be supportive and not critical--he did not think it was a big deal.  I'd see him at events from time to time-he'd wave or say hi, but it was awkward for me.  Figured I would say something stupid.  Jordan was pretty popular--nothing like she seems to be now--she is holding her own in a man's world...proud of her.
    • Like we have had the last 3 years.
    • In May of 2026, it looks like a challenging schedule...and it probably is.  I rarely listen to the "strength of schedule" conversations that light up social media this time of year. Each year teams improve and decline. I think there's chunks of the year we need to take care of business and the week 5 bye is not desired.  I do think if we don't hit the bye week at 3-1, it's going to be a major uphill battle given the schedule in front of us. This season falls on three people, regardless of schedule strength: Canales, Bryce, Evero.  Canales: Finally can truly coach all aspects of the team and not focus with gameday prep for OC duties anymore. He drives the bus and needs to get these guys in position to win each week. There's no way vets come in and put it on the line every week to watch our QB sh!t the bed (See: SF game last year). Bryce: Despite everyone's obsession with thinking Bryce is a guaranteed extension, I think this year will truly be his "prove it" year. If he comes out the way he has the past three years, I really don't see how vets and coaches can continue to put him under center long-term. He might play out that fifth year as the starter, but I think next offseason his long-term replacement is found. I also think there's no excuses with the weapons and commitment we've made on offense to insulate him with every possible weapon.  Evero: Best personnel he's had since he's been here...no excuses. Figure out how to blitz effectively. Figure out how to use CBs whose strengths are press/man. Figure out how to utilize a talented front-7 to get the hell of the field. Outside of FS and maybe....maybe ILB, there are few weaknesses on this unit.
