Those who blame the refs when they lose, are the same ones that call you a sore loser when they win because the refs.

Take credit when you win. Accept blame when you lose. Anything else makes you look like a dweeb

Agreed. It sucks that there were blown calls but poo happens. Still think we should have gone for the TD and not left the game up to the refs… but hey, that’s just me.

I’ve not seen anybody taking up for the coaching staff? This is an argument about whether the Panthers got hosed or not? And if you watched the game, you can’t tell me we didn’t get screwed! I don’t think anybody is exactly happy about the overall game today. But we played well enough to have the lead with a little over a minute to go. I’m just as pissed about the defensive PI in the end zone as I am about the roughing the passer call.

He is the village idiot...Making up narratives is his thing.

Don’t think anyone is arguing that, call was blown, everyone has to move on and then go make a play. Brissett hit Peoples-Jones for 13 yards and Cooper for 9 yards after the roughing the passer call. We still had a chance to make up for the shitty call and we didn’t.

Yes that 13 yard pass killed us for sure. All phases of the game let us down today. Sure the refs sucked and blew two huge calls, but tipped passes, botched snaps, the INT, poor tackling, horrible play calling (first half), horrible undisciplined penalties and giving up most third downs lost the game. Oh and how could I forget, horrible run defense, just putrid. Brown was non existent.

lolololol so its the refs fault we lost

Sweet Christ guys you are going to be a godsend going forward this season.  The level of excuses is going to be awesome, please dont stop

I'm not blaming the refs for why we lost, but it would be nice if they at least knew the rules or would call the booth for clarification.

I agree you go for the kill, 3 of CMCs ten carries were right there into a 10 man front.... But it doesn't excuse the bullshit calls.

If we’d have played a clean game I’d have my pitchfork ready as well, with the we played… it ain’t worth it.

No you're arguing that it doesn't matter, an even more insane position.

Of course it matters but it's one small factor in a larger picture. 355 yards of offense led by a backup quarterback on our defense that we have made significant investments in was a pretty heavy factor. We brought new veteran coaches in to help this staff prevent scenarios where a bad call or two can sink our game. Why do you not want to talk about how woefully unprepared we looked in the first half yet again? Who is responsible for that? The refs? If we come out and punch them in the mouth it's a different game. Instead we had less than 20 yards of offense for what a whole half almost? So what happened to the innovation with McAdoo? We can't hide behind blaming the refs for 16 more games.

    • They've gone way overboard with the masking of plays by only filming the ball in air.  Nobody is analyzing camp highlights.
    • Canales up first. Guys got their legs back yesterday and started a little slow when they came out Bryce challenged them in the huddle and they responded "Dominant practice for the defense today." Praised turnovers, "beautiful hits," and being physical Praised Moehrig, Ransom, Incoom, and Jones II Confirmed playing starters. Predominantly a young team and can't pass up an opportunity. Emphasized game day routines such as nutrition, body readiness, etc. Plus it's a bunch of new guys on the defense. Bryce will start. Will play them the first two, but starters might sit for the third game depending on how practice goes that week. Nic Scourton has a mild hamstring that happened in special teams. DJ Johnson had an issue with his hip flare up and is getting checked out this afternoon. Experimenting with approach to preseason games. In Seattle they played their starters in all but the last preseason game and what Pete Carroll was looking for in terms of mental readiness to play football. Thomas Incoom has been getting a lot of work with AC Carter adding to his toolbelt. Getting better as a rusher and being physical in the run game. Looking for a consistency in response. 1pt for a win, 3pts for a TD. Defense doesn't like that, but in games if they give up one go ball the score can swing. They challenged the pass game and the run game today. Guys are getting together before, between, and after team drills to challenge each other Job of the coaching staff to set the foundation for our schemes, philosophy, and expectations of what it's like to play Panthers football. Powerful when players take that and the locker room owns it. That's when it becomes our team, their team. At the end of the day, the men on the field have to rebound from a bad play, celebrate the good plays, and keep each other in tune for a whole game. Robert Hunt is amazing. Size, talent, quickness, flexibility. Really intelligent guy that there will say himself there are technique things he needs to work on. Regardless of where players are at, there's a constant learning curve and loves that Big Rob is challenging himself with the position coach. Thinks the digital down and distance can be really valuable. Getting the information quickly will help with the flow of the game. Thought TMac looked great but there were some near misses that he'll have to get in the room and communicate with Bryce on while reviewing film. James Mitchell keeps doing right and his trust factor is increasing with the QBs. If you're right and the coverage says the ball goes there, it'll come. Had some issues at the start of camp but is trending up. Newton or Person: "It looked like today was beyond thud but short of live. What do you call that?" Canales: "No, that's thud. In my mind, that's what thud should look like. The challenge for our defensive guys is can you put your body in a position where we know that would've been a tackle." Whizzing by, tagging with two hands, etc doesn't show you whether you would've made a tackle. That's not real football. Let's the play extend because guys have to be ready to chase sometime where the ball squirts out from a pit. Can't train to say "Ah, it was a tackle" and relax but instead play with intensity through the whistle. Lathan Ransom is bringing the physical style of play that they saw on film. Has been really into the details and someone that they can count on. Has really given himself a chance to start at the other safety position. Excited for the extra energy from a game-like environment that they'll get from FanFest. Used to have four preseason games and now FanFest feels like that first one. Will give ST full speed reps to evaluate. Making plays and feeding off of the fans. Window closed quickly on the INT to finish practice. CSW baited Bryce with some movement and made a great play. Saw it from Bryce's perspective with TMac coming open. Has played all over the secondary that they can count on to speak loudly and be on the same page with his teammates.
