Firing Rule won't change anything until the off-season . Not sure what the hurry is for. We will still have a crappy coaching staff and a horrible QB even when Rhule is gone

It's not about this season. This season is basically already lost.

Pretty much everyone can see Rhule needs to go. There's no real point in keeping him longer.

There is something Tepper can gain by letting him go early, though.

Rhule would be immediately available to interview for college jobs, and if he gets one Tepper would no longer have to pay him.

And we can start researching the next HC. Poor form to do it while you still have one, but once he’s gone you can start the search for the next HC. And potential HCs will be thinking of Carolina as a definite opening rather than a possible one. There’s no benefit to keeping him other than possibly worsening our draft pick because Wilks or whoever might win a game or two that Rhule wouldn’t.

I was thinking he'd win a couple more games out of these first few and survive until December, but no point in that. The only risk is an interim HC winning games, which I'm fine with if it comes to that. Would rather have some semblance of momentum and excitement heading into next year...

4 offensive TDs in 4 games (2 by the defense) is such a glaring reflection of where we are at in year three of the Rhule era. We've regressed. Firing him won't necessarily equate to less losses, but it does recalibrate the locker room and direction.

Rhule is a lame duck. Year three was a "hot seat" year to see if he truly had turned a corner with his shiny new toys (McAdoo, Campen, Baker, Ekonwu) and a healthy CMC. Nope.

Byeeeeeeeeeeee. Let's cut this sh*t show and look forward to '23. Hopefully trade Robby, Shaq and Donte along the way, lock in the #1 pick for Stroud and begin the slow climb back to relevance. I'm hoping for Flores or Payton as HC....no more college coaches.

    • Logically yes. Boston has the right balance though. Jalen Brown is #2 in the paint and their best shooters are 17th and 19th. While our best shooters are #1 and #2 and we have one player in the top 50 for points in the paint. And my understanding looking at the information I just referenced is we were basically at the exact same paint percentage last year in Charles Lee's offense. At the end of the day we either want to compete for a playoff series winner and the finals or we just want to stumble our way to another play in. We've already done that with James Borrego.
    • We need more bigs.  I love Moose, but him coming off the bench would be ideal. Even Kalkbrenner slowed down  Duren/Stewart from my eyes.   Draft someone like 7’3 Center from Michigan Aday Mara. We have plenty of talent, we need size. I really want Yaxel and one of Mara/ Quaintance.
    • We don't need another first round WR to evaluate Bryce Young. You could give him a young Jerry Rice Randy Moss and Justin Jefferson and he would still struggle to lead the group to a top 20 passing offense because he simply cannot utilize the entire field consistently. All we're going to end up with by drafting another first round wide receiver is a disgruntled WR room. Because one there are not that many touches to go around and two the touches that will be available maybe half of them will result in good to great ball placement. And the bulk of them will be thrown at or behind the line of scrimmage. If the FO goes WR at 19 all involved might as well go ahead and start looking at other job opportunities down the line.
