How could we not give Fitt another chance?!?

That's why terrible and reckless trading and here is the status he shouldn't be able to make any big future moves until we know who the next GM will be for sure

I hate we are missing our 3rd, but 5-7 rounders rarely make the roster. It is not as bad as Matt is making it out. Looks like those picks could be high, so there is a chance of trading back and collecting more picks. The sky is not falling.

I have no issue with the Baker trade even now. We gave up nothing for him.

the Trade for a Matt Corrall is looking kinda steep now but still not terrible overall. I do think we need to slow way down on trading anything 1-4, after round 4 I don’t care.

I'm not a member of the Corral bandwagon, but given how absolutely sh-tty the coaching has been, I don't really think we know anything much about him yet.

If he was bidding against himself for Mayfield, I'd say he won.

We got him for peanuts and the Browns ate most of his salary.

He won the boobie prize.  Mayfield is actually playing worse than Sam.

His first signings were Erving and Elflein.  His third was giving up a 2nd, 4th and 6th for Sam.  He then guarteed Sam for 18 Mil this year.  He then traded down in the 2nd for Terrace Marshal and used one of the acquired picks for Chubba Hubbard.

Fit's hit rate aint great.  He can hide behind Rhule's skirt, but he ain't blameless.

I don't think that's an accurate statement.

2022 5-7 rounders - all but one made the roster. DE Amaré Barno was cut, but is now on the Dolphins practice squad.

2021 5-7 rounders - all but one made the roster in their rookie year. LS Thomas Fletcher was placed on IR.

Excellent pedigree?

He helped take a SB team and turn it into the stale bag of lame it is up in Seattle lol, post legion of boom and most of their good picks. Can't even say he helped with the best move they made in years by ditching Wilson lol.

Oh no!  We dont have our 6th and 7th pick!

I'm a Fitt fan. Liked most of his moves so far via trades. I like we are "in every deal". I have liked his drafts. Not sure what else you can ask for.  Is he the new whipping boy with rhule gone?

Yup. Some of these guys want to “throw the baby out with the bathwater”. Fitt has done a good overall job and the scouting department was recently revamped. I think these guys deserve a chance to right the ship now that Rhule is gone.

micromanaging rhule made it hard to see what anyone could or would do without his control and influence.

i wouldn't cry if we started over there, either, but i also would be curious to see how he'd be different without rhule around.

This 💯 I think we’re just now beginning to understand how dysfunctional things were under Rhule’s influence.

Just 3 weeks ago, you were guaranteeing all of us that Rhule was going to take the Panthers to the playoffs.

Have you noticed that a pretty heavy portion of your argument is based on the idea that Scott Fitterer must be blamed for anything his bosses do wrong?

Are you also going to try and tie him to the contract Tepper gave Rhule?

Good overall job?  fug that

We have to agree to disagree. There’s a bigger picture here that you’re apparently not seeing. I won’t lose any sleep if we made a clean sweep here. While Fitt is not totally blameless, this roster mostly has Rhule’s fingerprints all over it. He was given final say of personnel BEFORE Fitt got here and it remained such until he was canned. I’d be curios to see the direction of this team without the influence and control of the previous HC.

    • I hope we're not going all in this year. We couldn't outright win our own division with a losing record. We had 2 anomalous wins. Typically you aren't going to win scoring 13 and have your opponent have an absolute train wreck offense.  Also, a team scoring 16 on 6 trips to the red zone is not normal either. I'm not trying to be a pessimist. We're not there. Bryce isn't there. Most of the year our offense legitimately struggled and the missing piece wasn't a TE. Keep building through the draft and reasonable FA. When we have a team that's on the edge of being able to make a legitimate SB run, then go all in. Otherwise, going all in right now feels like another Bryce situation. Sell out and pray. That's not how consistent winners are built.
    • XL might never reach his full potential here but I think he does have a legitimate shot at becoming a pretty good #2-3. We knew when we picked him that he was raw but his athletic traits were hard to pass on.  I still remember coming here and telling 85% of huddlers to not give up on DB yet after his first couple of years here.  I just knew DB was going to special. I wouldn't put XL in that exact same category but I wouldn't write him off yet. I think our playcalling is also working against his strengths.  At the very least, we should have a servicable #3 receiver w/ speed between XL, Horn Jr, and Meetchie.
    • I think we haven't praised Morgan/tilis enough. In this thread we have some huddles best and its hard to figure out what to do with the 19th pick, if you understand that. Im also posting what "I" believe they are doing and what I feel is best. Those FA signess send a clear signal- They are going all-in to win this coming season. If you factor that in, just believe it first, it 100% changes what going on with pick 19, cause 51st pick doesn't matter as the talent level drop is petty big between the two. So 19 is the biggest difference maker on the current plan of all-in for the 2026.  Then you factor in who will be there at, (I better hold off on my other strong thought here- I think trade up is the best help too, yes using that 3rd to do so too...) DT, ILB(Allen? he didn't run), OC, QB(ooo my I don't want to rage drool my hate again about how I feel here, plus F it draft TY simp not joking)....... those 4 groups don't have the "BPA" at 19. You can add ILB Hill in there, but I feel 19 just is too high, other disagree.  Slot or TE it is......Kenyon is the only TE worth a 1st and he's the classic draft dilemma- All sort of he's a top ten lock to he's a non-blocking one trick WR that's not even worth 2nd currency. Then there's he's the clear winner from the TE group, thus increases his value more no matter the opinion.  Honestly I see the Matt Millen outcome as the current odds favorite, I think the huddle would go bonkers for weeks as result......just the truth tho, WR had the highest odds to be the clear BPA and slot is a need...plus if we are talking about Walker being a one year deal, Coker is a one year too(he may have another controll yr, I got to confirm it tho). Plus God forbid Tmac gets hurt, the drop in talent from him or Coker to Moore is fuging scary, I'd say more than the recent OT stone fellow. It goes back back to adding talent no matter what, draft now help, and where are  the weak points are in the system you want to run....
