yeah i think right now trying to create a pattern to understand who could it be would be as useful as chasing your tail. Just going to lead you in circles with no results.

If Tepper hires consultants and they land on Steichen, then the connections wont matter. I could see Steichen bringing a lot of the former chargers coaching staff over and Alex Tanney from the Eagles over as his OC.

If the Chargers wind up having an opening, I could see Steichen being the guy to fill it.

But yeah, the focus right now seems to be on Wilks. That's one reason why I'm not putting too much effort into coaching profiles just yet because there's way too many potential candidates.

Well that, plus Lady Cowboy Fan just had her third surgery and recovery is going kinda rough 😕

I dont see the Chargers being the team to fill it... they had a chance to keep Steichen but instead let him walk. Apparently he wasnt on good terms there after taking over for Wisenhunt. Lynn was his only advocate.

Yikes man, blessings to you both on your journey there.

Thanks.

I know that's where he's from and that's where he got all his experience. Haven't looked that closely into the circumstances around this move (one of those "down the road" things).

I also know the Spanos family is...unpredictable.

(among other things)

Sorry about that. Hang in there. Remind her of how good her team is this year.

What Has Gone Wrong?

Let's get all of this out of the way before we continue.

  • The Panthers rank 32nd in the NFL in time of possession (25:23);
  • They rank 32nd in the NFL in first downs per game (14.8);
  • They rank 32nd in the NFL in third-down conversions (24.2%);
  • They rank 31st in the NFL in passing yards per play (5.71);
  • Baker Mayfield ranks 32nd in the NFL in completion percentage (54.9%).

HOLY POO!

Tepper does not come across as “likeable”.

That's... an understatement.

I doubt Tepper has "handlers".

He really could use someone to help him with his public speaking though.

Every time he gets in front of the press, it tends to come off badly.

    • I think i like the Oregon Safety better
    • Do you see the vision?  As of now our Carolina Panthers don’t have an identity. We are not an offensive powerhouse and on defense we only started getting it together towards the end of the year last year. In my opinion we are much closer to having an incredible defense that scares the daylights out of people. I say the answer is simple and we fully commit to that possible identity.    Emmanuel McNeil Warren (E man)  This guy is like a shark lurking around ready to attack anyone. Fearless. He is easily a top 20 talent in my eyes, and the only reason he isn’t more talked about is because he’s from Toledo. Do your due diligence as panther fans and watch his tape I beg you. Once you’re done watching let me ask you this, if you dropped E - Man into the strong safety spot on the Buckeyes, he isn’t being talked about as one of the best prospects we’ve seen in some time given the skill set you see with this guy? I think so. Put his name on the card and turn it in at 19.    Jacob Rodriguez  High effort, High energy, High IQ guy that flies around the field. We all know Jacob at this point. My only concern is he’s a little bit too good and I’m not sure he makes it to us at our pick in the second. With the additions of Jacob and E- Man I think our defense goes to top 5 in the league. We would have a duo of linebackers that rival anything we’ve had in our past. I’m not a GM so I don’t know what the possible answer could be, but if there’s a way we can comfortably trade up in the second to secure this guy I think we find a way to do it.    Spend the rest of our picks fixing the O - line.    Thoughts Panthers fans? Who’s the ideal duo for yall?
    • OL is arguably much more important to the success of a young QB. (Or any QB)
