The Panthers offense yesterday was what it should have been all year.

60/40 rushing/pass ratio

The team simply does not have the QB to run anything more than a run based, PA offense and hope the defense can steal some games.

Even with the best case scenarios with Baker, this team needs to be setting up the pass with the run.

It was gorgeous watching Foreman just abuse people in the 3rd and 4th. And Hubbard is fine as long as he is never asked to catch a pass. He is a one cut runner and that is fine; we have the offensive linemen to pull that off.

Moving forward, if we actually want to win games (i know, we risk going into no man's land record wise) we need to leave PJ in there and run a play action offense. Get him running, let him take shots deep because he has the best arm on the team.

If we want to win. Which I'm not sure we do.

You forget to mention our best game also included Bozeman starting at center.  I don't think it was a coincidence that our best game so far running the ball came with Bozeman at center.

I love that Foreman is not a running back that goes down on the first hit.  He's bruiser.  I also think Hubbard is a perfect complement to him.  If we can pound the rock.  Play Action is going to give our young WR corps to make plays.

I don't see us staying consistent once PJ and this offense is game planned for. The Bucs def overlooked us and got left wanting. Hopefully ATL will not.

I think we can run all day on Atlanta.  The Bucs defense is still good (although not close to a few years ago), but our Oline had their way with them.  This team can and should run the ball a lot.

Atlanta has some juice on offense, but their defense simply lacks talent.

I'm still torn on this season.  I do think Rhule was the majority of the problem... there was/is entirely too much talent for this team to play so bad.

This division truly is bad enough to be won.  I really want Steve Wilks to get a fair shake.

That being said, we all know a franchise QB is the biggest long-term goal.

As we saw yesterday, we finally have been built right in the trenches.  That goes a long, long way to supporting a young QB.  DJ is still capable of WR1 things in case people forgot.

The cupboard is certainly not bare.  I feel a lot better about the CMC trade.  The idea of a multi-year rebuild is bs.

Honestly, losing this year is still probably in our best long-term interest, but this team and fanbase needed that win yesterday.  Draft be damned, it felt amazing beating TB12 in his last game at BOA.

Ironically too, it was one of the most fun games I've ever been to in 16+ years... the energy on the Panthers sideline was palpable.  Like they had finally been unleashed from the Rhule curse.

Ruhle should have been fired after the first season

At the very least after last season.  It was obvious from watching the sideline yesterday and the post-game locker room these men want to follow Wilks way more than they ever did the short-order cook in a smock...

it wasn’t really surprising the way things went

mcadoo never really knew how to use mccaffrey, we didn’t have the QB to capitalize on him, and they didn’t want to use him as a battering ram up the middle, and foreman was never going to be a guy that contributed with 3 or 4 carries a game, it’s not his game.

that game was a more natural version of everyone’s skillset and Tampa wasn’t prepared

still a much lower floor than what this team could’ve been with a strong offensive mind, great QB, and mccaffrey in the backfield

I do.

As I've said, I want to see if Wilks can win the job, and I would personally love to see him do it.  For all this franchise has endured, how awesome would it be to have a hometown/homegrown guy come in under these circumstances and galvanize this franchise at its lowest point and turn it all around.  I also said I want a offensive coach, but again, if Wilks can do rehabilitate this team from the depths Rhule drove it down into - which it appears he is already doing - it should be his job.  No question.

I also don't believe in Stroud or Young at all.  As I've also said elsewhere, I knew Cam was gonna be Cam, with certainty.  I don't have that feeling about this class, so I really don't care about the draft pick position.  And at the end of the day, outside of 2010 and 2001, we never did what we were supposed to do to secure it anyway, so who cares.

And finally, I agree...  that style of offense we ran yesterday is so demoralizing to an opponent.  We just annihilated them and took their will by pounding them over and over again with the run, and then PJ throwing some absolute dimes when the opportunities presented themselves.  It might not be sexy, but I sure is fun to watch.

The only difference with the team from the previous Sunday was a lot of new starters on offense and defense.  Some to trade and some to injury.

These backups are hungry and it shows. Wilks got the team motivated to play and that says something about his ability as a head coach.

Now don't get me wrong, they caught Tampa with their pants down yesterday.  One completion and its a different ballgame.  The defense would have kept it close and I say we still win regardless.

Get a good lawyer Tom.

So true, and they need to bring will Grier back too, it’s time to start running this organization more like a family.

Y is Norv Turner coming to mind....

Look yesterday game was the first time this team showed it was on the same page...

Baker had the same line.. better weapons...so did Darnold...it's the QB play, PJ doing what being asked that's all...Mahomes, Jackson, Allen get to go off script if they want. PJ knows the offense better than anyone on the team I bet... he's seen three different versions of it.

And CmC sometimes was a handicap, damn if u do type player...

What's he doing in San Francisco? Same results...

Btw the offense never look so good as it did on Sunday. PJ getting a full week rep...

Darnold help show PJ what not to do

Baker help show PJ how not to act

So at the end of the day PJ should've been the Quarterback from jump. When the last time we saw a QB play so well...

Walker missed numerous open throws, choked his WRs momentum on others with bad passes, and overall managed the game against a poor Tampa defense

it’s not a performance they can replicate with consistency and it’s especially not a formula for winning a super bowl

    • I mean....no lies detected. See above. We have traded a fortune to draft a guy #1 overall that people have lowered standards for to the point that not playing like Jimmy Clausen and looking like a poor man's Kyle Allen occasionally is worthy of a contract extension making him one of the highest paid QB's in the league. That is cope on steroids.
    • summary: "let's talk about your draft, what did you think about Freeling" Dan:   guys with a huge upside, can come in and compete to start.  High ceiling "he does what for your offense?" Dan:   it's hard to find left tackles, guys that big and athletic.  We have Icky coming off an injury, we signed Walker, I believe your offensive line can never be too strong.  If we're going to win the game, it's gotta be up front on both sides of the ball, so we make a point of emphasis on making both sides of the front as strong as possible. "how many mocks did you see Monro falling to you." Not many times, left tackles are gonna go a lot earlier than when we took him.  We want to add the best player, in free agency or the draft"  that's our philosophy, to get the best players possible. "Hunter and Brazzell." Dan:  we followed the board.  Lee we felt very highly of him , super strong.  Brazzel so flexible and loose, can open the verticle.  Will Lee we held in high regard. "you take a look at your receiver room, Coker, my goodness, your offensive rookie of the year in Tet.  Lost Rico, but there is Jonathan Brooks. " Brooks coming off two knee injuries, he worked his way back, looking great, fully healthy, will help in pass and run game.  Icky, not sure when he's coming back but we're excited about both "plan on extending Bryce" we'll keep talking, will keep internally.  We believe in him, has such a great grasp of Canales and offense, has improved every year. "he's clearly come back from the benching, the arrow is trending up, where does he feel" Bryce knows where we stand with him, when and if a deal gets done, he knows we feel great with him, we'll get something done at the right time. "if this a prove it situation?" everyone in the building has to prove it, has to earn it. Tmac was everything we wanted, his work ethic, he's so big and talented, but he puts the work in, and is a great teammate. "your level of expectation, the building's level of expectation for 2026 "our goal is to win the division every year, we know we have to earn it.  we have to put the work in every day, proving it on the practice field, and our  guys know that." "schedule" we haven't opened at home in 2 or 3 years.  We love prime time games, hope we get some "
    • this one is gold:     Bryce has a cult inside the Panthers fanbase that has truly developed some NPC hivemind. I'll never understand how he's captured the true essence of the casual fan like that.
