UNC defense is a bit sus to hang with a top tier team

A bit? Our staff needs to wake up and realize we need to be trying to score every time we touch the ball no matter what. Mack Brown's post-game interview gave me some hope that might be happening. They can't think they can take their foot off the gas and go conservative and lean on the D. That's just not an option.

My hopes hang on the fact that I honestly haven't seen any dominant teams this year. Not sure there's a team in the field that would be a threat to win it all in a normal season. Just seems like a down year in terms of teams. Still some great draft prospects, I just don't see any dominant teams.

I'm expecting the QB change for Clemson again in the 2nd half. Not sure why it didn't stick last time. DJ just isn't that guy. Put him on a borderline top 25 team and he's a JAG.

I wish.  Dabo has been hellbent on proving folks wrong about DJ.   Cade should of been developing and taken over by now.

wind is too bad.  Need Cade’s legs.  It should be an easy call but Dabo going to Dabo

It's baffling. He didn't hesitate to yank a pretty good college QB for Trevor Lawrence. DJ is better than Kelly and this other kid may not be Trevor Lawrence but the other kid looks like a better QB than DJ and that's all that really matters.

This is true, which makes Maye’s numbers more remarkable… The guy is asked to continuously match every score. I’m not sure why these highly touted recruits seem so out of sorts.

The D IS improving. Going from utterly hapless to run of the mill not very good is significant improvement. Now I'm hoping we can go from not very good to decent. Our second half improvements gives me some hope. We've quietly been a pretty damn good second half defense in recent weeks. Our trash first half defense just makes it hard to realize. 😂

After watching Tennessee beat Alabama on their home field,, then get manhandled by Georgia on their home field.. I disagree.  Georgia is elite .

I do hope UNC can beat Clempson, but it’ll take some help to get an 12-1 UNC team in the final 4.
And let’s be honest, the final four is all there is in college football anymore. So many players sit out of bowl games it’s not a true test of who had the best football team during the season. The bowl games are not the best players of team X playing the best of team Z

Expand the playoffs.

UNC's only hope is to face an undefeated Clemson team. The problem with that is that the ACC isn't gonna let an undefeated Clemson team lose the ACC CG if they can do anything to prevent it. We'd have to hammer them. If it's competitive you'll see manufactured calls to make sure the ACC has a team in the playoffs.

Expanded playoffs are coming. I just don't know why it wasn't instituted immediately. Why wait?

Kelly Bryant was a better football player.  DJ a better pure passer.  I’d take Kelly all day over DJ in the Clemson scheme.

Cade is probably the best QB prospect not named Trevor that Clemson has landed IMO.  Watson probably the best QB overall when it all was said in done but he wasn’t as highly regarded coming in

    • Extrapolate that with every QB for that matter. I guarantee you there's quite a bit of missed opportunities and yards left on the field for everyone. Many NFL QBs deal with WRs not putting in A+ effort, subpar o-line play and other deficiencies. The great ones are able to rise above these issues and create opportunities for plays. Guys like Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes can both play in and out of structure, as well as find ways to get yards when things break down and mask mistakes by throwing guys open, creating opportunities from nothing, etc. Bryce Young has only shown he's able to make things happen when the rest of the team picks up his slack. Very rarely does he create those opportunities himself. When this is a consistent pattern year after year with Bryce where he shows up lackluster, it's a concern. This is year three and he should be elevating the team as a first overall pick this franchise traded up for.  He was far from elevating anyone against JAX. In fact, he needed others to elevate and create for him. Excuses may be fine for a rookie, but this is year three for the first overall pick. Not looking good so far.
    • I think the worst issue is coaching. Countless bad snaps, XL not getting his feet in or trying on runs plays, our centre being down field when he didn't need to be. All seem to be from poor coaching for me. I believe Canales is to soft to rip the players a new one when the fug up. Plus I honestly believe that Canales is slow getting his plays in giving Bryce less time to diagnose and adjust to the defence. Don't worry I could of head butted Bryce for that fumble and the 4th down throw aways but the other plays are explainable to me
    • No We have been making excuses for him for 3 years, and we have gave him a hundred chances  Bryce is a bust, and we need to cut him now and stop wasting everyone's time
