Not so sure our owner agrees.

Frankly, I'd put a pretty high likelihood on the criteria for what we would or wouldn't accept for guys like Moore and Burns having been discussed with Tepper.

Sounds like you think Tepper is the real GM and you are probably correct

Basically, if someone looks in the general direction of a certain player, they're trying to trade for him.

I didn't get that at all from the clip. He said the exact opposite IMO. He said his scouts look into a player's availability (as they should), but then it often gets reported that the team is trying to make a trade ... when in fact he (Beane) doesn't even know what his scouts are doing.

You’re also assuming David Tepper has even the slightest ability to construct a winning franchise which he has shown no inclination of being able to do….

Turning down the Burns package was a massive mistake and Rhule isn’t here.

I'm not assuming anything about Tepper's ability. Note the wording of my post:

"Tepper knows or at least thinks, most of the bad decisions were on Fhule."

That wasn't a statement of Tepper's ability, just an observation that as owner, he should have a greater knowledge than you or I of exactly who advocated for what within the FO. If he cans Fhule, but keeps Fitts and reports are that Fitts is very safe, we can infer Tepper's likely perception, and Tepper has greater direct knowledge than you or I. One would hope that means he's making a better decision, but I'm not assuming so either at this point, given Tepper's overall track record to date.

Bleacher Report is saying the Rams offered 2 firsts and a 2nd.  If that's true then fitt needs to be escorted out of the building

100% agree. As if the Darnold trade and subsequently picking up his $19m 5th year option to sit on the bench wasn’t enough of a reason.

Ehhhhh... yeah that's starting to get in the range of take the money and run. Burns is a talented pass rusher in his prime, but he has flaws.  Your chances of being able to replace him with even younger, cheaper talent and still come out ahead start to look crazy in this context.

Pass rushers can be capable of making an immediate impact if talent and opportunity are there, so trading away Burns only means the delay til we get their picks, not additional years down the road for a drafted rusher to mature.

So, I can see where there are reasons to hold your own, mostly because it would devastate the locker room, I have a feeling. You get the rep of instability as a place to sign. That sort of thing.

That is the only way I could argue against it.

Someone else pointed out the potential of holding high picks. Use one 1st, roll the other one over into more futures. Rinse and repeat.

When those picks come into play in 24 and 25 Burns better have torn it up and stayed healthy for two years.

I think he is letting fitt run things

With everyday decisions he likely is.

Rvery report that has detailed prior trade discussions though has confirmed that Fitterer takes a collaborative approach. He works with Morgan, scouts and others and, on high profile decisions at least, Tepper.
