Hockey is the only thing that’s got me through the last five years.

The Panthers, Hornets, Heels (football) and at times Heels (basketball) have all fugged me.

And we are not far removed from the Canes being right there with them, it got really bad, we were sort like the Panthers are now, aging washed up vets and a no man's land for decent Free Agents , but we got sold, to a serios ownerand started building through the draft, and got lucky with  generational talent like Aho,and Scechnekov , now we are a perennial playoff team , and in the Cup conversion every year

I wish Mike Dundon would buy the Panthers off of tepper, then things might change

I hate to say it but tonight changed Josh Downs' legacy and not for the better. 😞

1 play but you have to catch that.  The defense giving up a 3rd and 9 on a straight run was more maddening to me.  That was going to be the downfall for this team.

For 12 straight years I dreaded hockey season.

Plenty of maddening plays in that game. But at the end of the day it's been very clear this team was going to go as far as the offense could carry them. The D giving up a 3rd and long was predictable. Josh Downs dropping a gimmie TD on 4th and 11 wasn't. That hurt.

Hang in there man…this has been a tough year of brutal loses for our home teams

9-2 ain’t bad all things considered

If you'd told me at the beginning of the season we'd be 9-2 I'd be thrilled. That still doesn't make snatching defeat from the jaws of victory against a 4-6 GT team anymore palatable. Especially for what that means lying ahead in the ACC CG. Prepare to see the highest level of bullshit call/no calls you've seen since SB50.

    • Exactly.  You let him play out next season and continue to develop Thorton.  Jackson’s earned his next contract, but his age and the risk of tying up such a large portion of the payroll at one position leads me to believe that we’ll let him walk. In all likelihood, we’ll draft another CB, or two, and bring in some journeymen to fill the roster void, between now and the start of the 2027 season.  That’ll create more balance financially across the roster enabling us to invest in other areas.
    • As far as the NFCS … I think this division will be hotly contested the next couple of years.   I am tending to pay more respect to both Atlanta and the Saints n terms of how strong they will be moving forward, than not.    I am mixed on Ryan but think they have a decent roster to start with. I don’t think he blundered hiring Stefanski. And that offense can be dangerous with a QB. Plus, defense is arrow up. No 1st round pick, WB issues will dull their effectiveness. Question is, to what degree?   I think Moore is going to be a good HC and can overcome tape that people have on Shough. They need a lot but they were playing with people. Just the way you want to see all the way to the end.    Not sure about Tampa they have Mayfield but I don’t think they can maintain their success and Bowles is not going to last much longer. They have to go through all that. Gonna be tough once it starts. Might already have started.    For us I feel pretty good about Morgan. But less so about our offense, we have some short term RB and OL issues and those things are critical given what we are working with at QB.  Overall, mixed. Like a lot of what I see but some major question marks remain.
    • Absolutely. If we are talking about a 20 year old youngster. He's a grown-ass man, and he doesn't know what his job entails or how to do it? Maybe he will be better next year! It's the Panther way.
