Had the opportunity to write up my thoughts on Wilks and his candidacy for head coach and thought you all would enjoy.

As usual thank you all for the support and no I don't get paid for clicks 🙂

Well said Natalie.  I agree. Also..nice getting your write up in USA today!

Wilks has had command of the team from the start.  He has made the changes that he could and the team is better for those changes. He seems to have a high football IQ.  He is taking what he was handed and transformed the team.  Imagine if he has the chance to make decisions about his staff.  Not just firing the bad eggs but bringing  in some good assistants.  With the direction Wilks has this team going this should be an attractive job for a good OC candidate.

I love the idea of becoming an elite offense. It's not happening this season.

The NFC playoff teams are likely to be Philly, Minnesota, San Francisco, Dallas, Washington, and New York plus either us or Tampa.

There isn't a Bengals level offense in that group. Maybe Philly. Maybe Dallas, but that's probably a stretch. That's all I was pointing out.

I’m talking about the future and I don’t see it by keeping Wilks as HC going forward

I guess we have another decade of "play not to lose" Foxball incoming. Beat the bad teams, get smoked by the good ones. Winning season every other year, playoff push every 5 if we happen to draft well.

It's sad that the Rhule experiment has us so traumatized that we're ecstatic to have another "Mister .500"

There is always a bump when the head coach is fired and the interim steps in (the media idiots cry about how so and so deserves the job). Only a fool buys on the bump so Tepper will probably retain Wilks who will look for an OC, get not takers, and retain McAdoo.  If we have to hire a defensive guy why not the DC at the niners? Would rather have an offensive guy that can help pick and develop a qb.

If we win 5 of our last 6 games, how’s that falling?

Denver = sucks but we scored on a good D; lol at their offense.

Seattle = doesn't suck but not world beaters and down 1st and 2nd rbs

Pitt = sucks

Detroit = losing record not indicative of decent team (tickets to be had for $25)

Tamp = sucks

New Orleans = sucks. (tickets to be had for $16).

So we win 5 out of 6 with no wins vs. a decent team.

gotta beat the teams on your schedule.

if beating those teams make the panthers suck, what does losing to them do?

    • He was so much fun to watch as a player but is a prototypical example of the old "never meet your heroes" adage. Great player, not a great guy.
    • Look.... if us BY "haters" give credit about his GWDs...... Will the BY stans also have honest discussion about the 55minutes before the last 5 in which BY has put up 9/20 for 78 yards 0 TDs???
    • The way they are handling now is how they should have handled it from the start instead of that you get a series, you a get a series. Let Chuba spell until he had some of his step back.  We definitely could have put a better showing against Buffalo and their weak run defense had we employed the same game plan we did against Green Bay. Saints were determined to stop the run and make Bryce beat them, Atlanta had similar plan and the coaches and Bryce were able to respond.  Rico although didnt have the best rushing game was vital in the passing game and his catch and run help get us into the redzone there at the end of regulation probably should have been a touchdown that out of bounds was a judgement call it wasn't conclusive and thus should have went with the original call on the field.  Roco brings that dawg to the offense that it shorely lacked up until Miami game. Interesting it was his call that help seal the win for us, glad the coaches were listening. Hope they can get a deal done and run it back next year.
