In terms of roster moves? Yeah.

I mean, he looked absolutely awful. You really can't count on him for anything in terms of making decisions on roster moves at the QB position. If he surprises and develops into something, awesome. If he doesn't, oh well but you've already planned for that.

Im a corral fan and agree with this.

Wait a minute, wasn't Carr the whole reason Adams came to Las Vegas in the first place? And Carr might not even be on the team next year. Yikes.

yep i thought that as welll, feels like one year in NFL is like 10 everywhere else. sooooo much changes.

I found the following stats quite interesting. The raiders defense has typically ranked at the bottom end of the league. The best defense he played with was the 20th ranked unit of 16 and 17. A lot of better quarterbacks would struggle to overcome such an inconsistent and sometimes ineffective unit.

2022: 27th, 2021: 26th, 2020: 30th, 2019: 24th, 2018: 32nd, 2017: 20th, 2016: 20th, 2015: 22nd, 2014: 32nd

By no means am I saying we should go for Carr, but if he’s placed on a team with a better defense and decent supporting cast and coaching staff, then there’s no reason why he couldn’t be a good quarterback for a team. As let’s face it, the Raiders have been dysfunctional at times over Carr’s time and that’s surely not helped.

Yeah, I suspect there's a lot of unhappy people in LA right now. Carr isn't playing particularly well but it is hard to point to him as "the problem" in LV.

I actually think that Las Vegas is a likely destination for Brady. This doesnt mean that they dont take a quarterback. But I think that Tampa and Las Vegas are teams that could be looking to draft a QB in the first round this year. If we make the playoffs, there's are a few scenarios where non of the top 4 guys are there. So prepare to take a defensive player or a tight end.

He used to be someone I would have been satisfied with picking up for next season instead of drafting QB. However, he has really stunk it up this season, with elite talent on offense.

lol...if we wanted to over spend he would be a great fit here.

    • Jake in his prime was a gutsy QB. But just like with even someone like Cam. Father time is undefeated. It's very unfortunate we have a guy who is only 24 years old that has an equivalent arm to that. Absolutely blows my mind that our brain trust lacked the basic common sense to value arm talent when making a massive trade with ramifications for years to come. Unforgivable incompetence.
    • Jake, to me, will always hold a special place in my heart.  I really feel like for his era, he deserved way more love than he got, and should’ve had more than his one Pro Bowl.  He was a gamer with an underrated rocket arm. but let me tell you, after his Tommy John surgery, when he came back, I can’t remember who it was against, but it think it was a division game, he threw a ball that was supposed to be a throw away, as I think he was under pressure, and that poo floated forever and died right at the boundary where a defender ran over and picked it off.  One of the worst throws I ever saw.  His arm just wasn’t the same after the injury and surgery.  All that to say, that’s what almost every Bryce throw to the sidelines looks like to me.
    • And again, when watching him in college he had one distinct trait that I feel makes a franchise QB - on those plays when everything breaks down around him, he creates one on his own.  He doesn’t rely on or need everyone else.  That play last night on the final drive where he was getting sacked and threw it to Diggs before his knee hit the ground?  He does similar things all the time.  Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, etc., they all do it.  It’s what made Cam so special. but we picked a guy that’s the opposite of that.  He desperately needs someone else to make a play for him because he can’t.  Even that play yesterday on 4th down to Horn.  That wasn’t a great pass.  The defender was late and came down to make a play in the ball and Bryce threw it high and outside where Horn had to leave his feet and really use strong hands to catch it.  We relied on a 5’9” rookie playing in his first pro game to make THAT catch at THAT time bc of the early turnovers and a not great throw.  Crazy.
