Wilks managed a C+/B-

Outside of player support, he really didn't show much in respect to game planning or in-game awareness.  I can understand players backing him up, he's a good dude, solid ring leader.  But these talking heads hyping him is really frustrating. It was nothing special, like at all.

I expect to interview Ben Johnson next week.  Maybe Harbaugh (Or we've moved on per rumors).  Reich sounds to be on the docket.  Dark horse: Shane Waldron.

Now, if we don't have a contract by Jan 17-20-ish, then I'll be thinking the target is Steichen or Demeco.

Reich is set to interview this week. So are Caldwell and Wilks.

Johnson can be hired immediately, which at least potentially gives him a leg up on Steichen, Dorsey, Ryans, maybe Waldron pending tonight's outcome.

General belief is this will be a "wide net" search so it could take a while.

All indications are Harbaugh isn't in play for us, but is for the Broncos and Colts.

    • I did not want to start or even think about *if* BY reverts back to pre-non last 9 games.   There is a lane in which Panthers are looking QB after this season, I feel its higher than most will realize. I mean....not kidding... has any team ever traded up to 1st overall twice in the teams history? I don't even want to think within 3 years, just foresee Tepper squeezing Dans and Brandts sacs to the point were they are forced to trade up for a another savior.....   The kicker is I feel this way with BY playing good-great..... I think there with be non-fixable problems for contract negotiations between BY&reps vs Panthers org on the whole. You can not pay 50+ million per over few years with 70% guarantees for 3,303 yards 15 TDs and 9 INTs......Cursed I tell you....
    • It's not surprising, but it's still surprising that many of these guys don't manage their money in such a way that provides them and their families a better lifestyle than most for the rest of their lives without even working a nine-to-five. I can't imagine making over a 100 mil for a decade and ultimately ruminating about supporting my family due to financial issues.
    • That why i mentioned the KC dynasty. Those three different playoff loses were not Allens fault, in fact 1-2 plays and Bills win. KC just have better players and better coaches and more luck.  Defense-wise, Bills have been trying to crack the Reid-Halhomes magic. Its near impossible with rules and KC home field advantage. Spags has started to force the league in naming him the best DC in NFL history. I agree if you take away Bill bielacheat.... Add in Andy Reid the best QB coach and brilliant play designer/play-caller, I mean that's too much for one QB to over-come on his own.  Just trolling or not, bad is bad scot. Allen is legit as any one QB has ever been.
