What???

The dude had a 1,000 yards receiving his rookie year with a not very good Matt Ryan and had to fight through injuries and possibly worse QBs that us this year.

68 catches on 110 targets with 1 td last year.  Yeah man he crushed it.  And he was off to a stellar start this season until he got hurt

are you saying 2/3s of the starting tes in the nfl are first round worthy?

Yes, if a redraft of their draft class were possible, about two thirds of starting tight ends (1 per team) would be selected in the first round (mostly late first).

The 3rd most yards among TEs despite having a bum for a QB. The only people that topped him were Kelce and Andrews, both of whom have good QBs.

Sure, I'd like to see more TDs for him, but Matt Ryan only had 20 passing TDs for that season.

The dude is probably a top 5 receiving TE and is only in his 2nd year.

I think they are not the same at all. Washington is honestly a good run blocker that has a freakish build and could probably serve as a 6th lineman/pass option in addition to being TE.

Washington is still pretty raw, but Ian Thomas was drafted solely for being an athletic TE. He honestly was good at nothing else, and that point has been proven (although I guess he has improved some at blocking).

The TE from South Dakota St. is another TE that could be worth a look

If we draft a TE - I want a TE that caught more than 45 balls over 3 years..

7 in 2020
10 in 2021
28 in 2022

Dalton Kincaid caught 70 in 2022
Michael Meyer caught 67 in 2022
Sam Laporta caught 58 in 2022

It's not his fault he's stuck behind Brock bowers, who could easily be a top 10 pick in next year's draft, and plays on a Georgia team that pulled their starters in the 3rd/4th quarter in probably half their games.

Those 3 were pretty much the only receiving threat on their team, so naturally they are going to have more receptions.

Regardless though, this is one of the better drafts I can recall for TE talent. I think we could get a very good one in the 2nd round.
