If you're looking for links to Manuel though, I think this is the guy you should probably be focused on.

They were teammates for a year in Carolina. Manuel also played a few years in Seattle while Morgan was in the Seahawks front office.

(which, incidentally, would also link him to Scott Fitterer)

Meh hard to say. People need to realize, if they haven’t already, Tepper is a god damn idiot. He has tried to interview for a GM when Hurney was already the GM. That’s against the rules and he got denied (and laughed at). He also let Hurney help him hire the future. He also had a small time college coach have input on hiring the GM (lmao).

He could very well be hiring the entire staff himself and be neutering the new HC. And common sense says only poor options would allow that. So maybe Wilks. Also makes sense why Harbaugh was a quick no.

Tepper strikes me as the type to go 180 to the other extreme after being swindled (by Rhule) like an idiot, Watson after Cam has this feel. And this would too after giving Rhule full control, and now no one gets it.

Hell this could have been his wife’s idea. Or maybe his new ‘smarter than the rest of the NFL’ revelation.

Yes this is all just thoughts a speculation. But you have to bring your theories to insanely stupid levels to understand Tepper. You don’t just stumble into being the founder of the worst season stretch in a 30 year history of a franchise, while actually trying, in your first shot, without having some really bad ideas.

His learning curve is a big one, and will take quite a while before he gets it right. Buckle up. He’s already shown to completely ignore how things are done and NFL history, but ironically, will end up there anyways when he finally figures out what everyone else already knows.

Kinda doubt Wilks would want to move on from Al Holcomb.

Wills will do anything Tepper tells him to, to become the HC. And Tepper loves that fact.

Wilks has no other options, no one else is interviewing him - which should be an obvious red flag for anyone supporting him staying as the HC btw.

He also played with Dorsey and Manuel at Miami, not to mention was Director of Player Personnel in Buffalo while Dorsey was QB Coach....

All correct.

I'd long expected Morgan would be an advocate for Ken Dorsey in this hiring cycle.

If Person is right though, Tepper might have his eyes set on Ben Johnson.

    • Carolina Panthers rookie wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan is putting the league on notice early into his NFL career, and 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan is well aware.  “I think he’s a stud,” Shanahan told reporters Thursday. “He’s going to be one of the best receivers in this league sooner than later. He’s got all the skill sets to do it, and I think he’s just getting started.”  Through 11 games played, McMillan has racked up 748 receiving yards on 54 receptions. He ranks sixth in the NFL in receiving yards and leads all rookies in the category.  Carolina selected McMillan as the No. 8 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. San Francisco had the 11th overall pick.  Did the receiver out of Arizona catch Shanahan’s eye in draft preparation?  “Yeah, big time,” Shanahan said.  Shanahan also said that he thought the receiver would be taken well ahead of the 49ers’ draft position, but the team did their due diligence when scouting the best overall draft picks in the 2025 class. With McMillan off the board, San Francisco ended up selecting defensive end Mykel Williams with the 11th pick to bolster its defensive line. https://www.nbcsportsbayarea.com/nfl/san-francisco-49ers/kyle-shanahan-tetairoa-mcmillan/1893558/
    • Koochie is playing his best hockey yet so far but it’s a small sample size
    • In basically every win but Atlanta he's had 2-3 plays that were a big deal but he also was part of why we needed those 2-3 plays instead of just cruising.
