I Think it Should Be Wilks...

I believe Wilks will eventually get a head coaching job some time in the future, although it may take another year or two.

I don't think he is presently Tepper's first choice for the Panthers head coaching position.

Maybe. I think Wilks having zero interest outside of us is very telling what the league thinks about his coaching ability.

That may be true. Im not debating that.

Im just saying if Wilks is indeed the fallback option we are not in bad shape. He proved he's not a bad coach.

He hasn’t proved he is a good coach either. 6-6. Perfectly balanced. Perfectly mediocre.
Maybe if he is given the ability to choose his on staff 100 percent, since in Arizona he had most of his staff chosen for him, he will better.
All I can do is judge with what I see. He had some good wins and some terrible losses. Also Holcomb becoming our DC permanently makes my stomach hurt and I am not a fan of how Wilks runs defenses.
Would make me feel a little bit better if Holcomb wasn’t going to be our DC if Wilks is hired.

Check the league.

Owners just don't feel comfortable hiring black coaches.

Dan Campbell got praised all season for doing what Wilks did.

His offense is top 5 in the league please tell me who did not compare dan Campbell to steve wilks Dan Campbell is aggressive hc that will keep grinding your dick in the dirt he will not let his foot off the gas and he gets that defense in check look  out

Plus if the Lions defense was any sort of decent they would have blown us out.

Does this include a 2016 SB appearance again?

If we being honest we have went downhill since firing Ron. Panthers football was so much more fun back then.

If Wilks could find a couple generational talents like Cam and Luke then yeah he might make it to a Super Bowl…

Dan Campbell 9-8 record missed the playoffs was the talk of the league as the one of the bright young coaches in the NFL.

Steve Wilks 6-6 record missed the playoffs can't even get a interview.

What makes Dan Campbell so much more special than Steve Wilks?

Not gonna argue with someone who brings race into it. Not gonna have a discussion with a person like that. Have a good night.

Wilks' Panthers did kick Campbell's Lions asses though. Just saying.

And, no, I'm not a Wilks guy.

I looked it up and did a comparison between the two and Steve has way more experience in the Coaching realm than Dan does.

It's very...odd, to say the least that he hasn't gotten ONE interview....not even for the Rooney rule, for that matter.

What is going on here?

Its his lawsuit I am quite sure. Nobody wants to touch it I guess.

Ask the owners...🤷‍♂️

You should definitely take this to the tinder box with the rest of the real warriors over there. They will talk this with you all day. Now dont get me wrong, they wont go out and actually do anything by rolling up their sleeves and making society a better place but they will definitely sit on their lumpy keisters and pretend to be making a difference in the internet world while patting themselves on the back. You will probably find some people very much like yourself over there and be welcomed with open arms.

    • He was saying Ron hid when he was cut/traded whatever that was.  I get being resentful, and feeling like that was gutless.  He, and Ron, neither are from the ‘breaking up with someone in a text or email is okay’ generation. That avoidance is seen as a lack of character.  Talking about it on camera how many years later? Why? And it is all one sided he said she said stuff. As he is speaking I am thinking well I bet that ain’t the whole story.    Between this type of stuff and him cheating on the wife stuff some of his shine is wearing off.
    • I was very critical of Ron Rivera as a coach for a range of reasons. But Steve Smith has been playing the victim for years now and it's just not working anymore. We know for a fact that he was disgruntled from the moment we drafted Cam Newton because of his own ego. That says more about him than anything he could say about Rivera. And yes Ron Rivera had a lot of faults. No excuses for it. We were right to move on from him. But ultimately Steve Smith couldn't hold it together with that group the same as he struggled to hold it together under previous regimes. He needs to grow up and accept his own role in the last few years of his Panthers career because there are things he could and should have done differently the same as anyone else. Stop seeking to only shift blame to everyone else and evolve or just stop talking and fade away. This isn't helping anyone and it is certainly not helping his image.
    • A friend of mine was involved in building Steve Smith's house and nearly came to blows with him during the process.  Love Smitty as a player, but I've heard very little good about him as a human being.
