Yes. What does Brissett do for us?

Simple question, are we a playoff team with Brissett? I’m not talking maybe our division winner will be 8-9 again, I’m talking a 10 win season where we could win a playoff game.

The answer is a resounding no. The only reason why we were even in the Cleveland game this past season was because Brissett was so bad at passing that he ended drives where they could have run easily for first downs all the way to the end zone. Brissett’s ceiling is Teddy’s year with us.

Our future is with a rookie or Corral magically developing. Let them play even if they don’t play well. Would Jacksonville be a better team right now if they started a vet over Lawrence? I know Pederson is way better than Meyer, but that year of experience and getting used to the NFL was necessary. If we are taking a QB top 10, he needs reps. We aren’t a multi-year playoff team like KC was with Alex Smith where they didn’t need Mahomes year 1 to be a contender. We haven’t had a winning season in 5 years. We have no need for a new bridge.

If we draft say Anthony Richardson the value of Brissett would be twofold. One, he'd be a decent vet option so that AR wouldn't be forced to play before he's ready. Two, he'd be a vet QB who has played under Frank Reich who can help mentor AR into the NFL.

Meh. What’s he going to teach him that our QB coach, ex-NFL QB head coach, offensive assistant and OC aren’t already doing? Who has Brissett mentored well so far? Just because he’s a vet and played in that system doesn’t mean he’s a good mentor.

I just don’t see the point with the amount of QB experience we already have in the room.

Alright, forget the mentorship part. There would be real value in having a viable vet option so that we aren't forced to play AR before he was ready.

AR, I get. He’s a project. I think I’d still rather see Corral because if he and AR aren’t ready, I’d be all for a top pick.

Would you rather have Brissett get you to 8-9 while waiting for AR or have Corral get you to 4-12 and gosh darn it pick 3 in the draft. Pick 3 being Marvin Harrison Jr after QBs go 1 and 2.

Is it wrong for me to be OK with not having a bridge and getting our own Chase?

A lot of speculation there my friend...
