Makes me kind of wonder what impact being in the celebrity world had on him(famous new spouse). I don't recall any egomaniac stories from either of his stops in college.

Hmm.. he did transfer from NC State b/c his coach was “inhibiting his ability to attain personal accolades” or whatever that was 🧐

Wilson is definitely trying to put his own spin in retrospect on that one. It was widely reported at the time that the spat between him and O'Brien was that O'Brien wanted him to commit 100% to football and Wilson wanted to keep his options open by continuing to play baseball. Honestly, understandable from both sides but particularly Wilson's. So why spin it into this bullshit story about how he was told to just go play baseball because he's never going to make it in the NFL anyway? That story doesn't even sound believable. He was a very good college QB. Why would his college coach tell him to pack it in even if he wasn't cut out for the NFL? Why would a college coach care about that? His job is to win college football games. A very good college player who isn't cut out for the NFL is still a great college football asset.

Yeah, that retrospective story sounds like BS. It doesn't even make sense to do that because he won that narrative in the end anyway.

He is starting to rival Terrell Owen's level of being weird and toxic. Unlike TO, his play on the field is also suffering.

100% agree.

Whats sticks out to me most. Its a reasonable (all be it petty) reaction from a 20 y/o kid. But some of these more recent stories about his behavior indicate he hasn't really matured. All these years later, he’s still a one-man-wolfpack.

Glad he doesn’t claim the pack, wouldn't want him on my team.

In this day and age NFL players are treated like movie stars.  Showered with riches by owners, worshipped by fans and surrounded by sycophants.  Is it any wonder some/many of these young men allow their egos to get the better of them?

Granted, Russell's long held tendencies and high level of success have seemingly escalated his self-love to a level few players ever attain.

His ego is one thing, but if Russ was involved/aware of his charities skimming millions of dollars in donations for enrichment of his close advisors, I doubt he will ever regain fan's support.
