In the sense that the demands could not be reached.

No chance ATL was trading the vick pick. Plus just like the others, vick checked all the boxes, his arm strength was legendary. About the one issue, he was a lefty with accuracy questions.

College wise, hard as it is to make this work. For sure Id taken vick over manning. A tyreek hill that has a 155, gimmie that.....

Is my memory not working… didn’t Atlanta trade up to get Vick?

so wouldn’t your argument be that the chargers would never trade the number 1 pick? But yet they did…..

Yes!! I don’t understand why ppl are trying to put Vick on this list because he was seen the same way Cam was..

? on accuracy

? on football intelligence

? on work ethic

? on if his style of play could work in the NFL..

Nooo Vick was not looked at like Elway, Lawrence or Luck..

Maybe my isnt, cause I dont recall that. I do remember SD had terrible ownership and rep, that many avoided ala eli deal as well. Was there any "I aint playin for SD?". Plus didnt SD have rivers or brees? I somewhat remember elway refusing to play for colts and sparking giant issues- trades, AFL, etc. I think the pick was traded for too, but more of a forced deal.

They did get offense LT and brees(2nd round and bunch other picks), so didnt already have QB. hmmm.

I still put Vick right there after the elway, luck, and law. I feel like people forgot how he was the living cheat code for some time.

Vick and Chargers couldn’t land on a rookie deal https://theathletic.com/2535152/2021/04/27/the-2001-nfl-draft-trade-that-changed-the-falcons-chargers-and-qb-play-forever/

Thats part of it, SD had a AWFUL rep and it goes to the money. I take that a slight * in regards to the trading of the pick. The way Archie handle SD behind the cameras, was OG gangsta style. That was soon after and the same method were being used.......SD was cheap and hated paying rookies top money(they had lots of hold-outs), they were partly right cause in 2011 it was changed.

No he doesn’t he can see that Young is a better player.  Cuz he has eyes

He thinks Young is the next Patrick Mahomes. If other GMs actually thought this the Bears phones would be blowing up. It’s easy to hype your guy up and say sensational things like “the next Mahomes” when your career isn’t on the line. The Bears aren’t risking it and rightfully so. Get more picks and address one of their other 1000 needs.

    • I'm not to sure it's a solid argument to try to estimate what he will do this season, BUT he's had a solid 3 years in the league. Here's his numbers compared to Jewell's for the same time period. I can see the logic of getting a starting MLB for a (at best) WR4. AT, XL and Tmac are certainly our top 3 guys IN 2025. Certainly worth pondering.
    • Training camp just started and it's already starting... https://www.facebook.com/reel/24277303321904901/?mibextid=rS40aB7S9Ucbxw6v LOL No one believes you and you have fan pages sharing this with a "Play him or trade him" headline. Oh wee mayne. This is why no front offices wanted any part of this.
    • Honestly, it only makes sense if you're trying to chase being the best bad team you can be this year. The number one question we need answered this season is whether or not Bryce is our long-term franchise QB. Trading away a second year WR who was second on the team in catch percentage, first in yards per target, and who clearly outplayed your 1st round pick for a likely one year rental fill in LB is exactly the type of short sighted desperation moves that has made us the worst franchise in the league under Tepper. We gotta stop making these types of moves and just focus on building a good organization and a good roster. Lloyd is a JAG LB another bad team and awful defense is wavering on and a couple of Panthers fans are salivating over him. Oof. We just need to be patient and wait. Definitely make some calls around the league to teams deep at LB and see if there's an opportunity to add one for a late round pick. Definitely shop the waiver wire hard. The reality is that LB is almost certainly going to be a weakness for us this year. We weren't fixing our entire roster in one off-season and we're not fixing an overall weak positional group in late July.  If you trade for Lloyd LB is still a weakness and you've given up a young promising WR who could potentially help you answer the question of whether or not Bryce is that guy. That's bad football business.
