I think he got ticked off about how they were using him and the coaches told him to skip practice.  He subsequently asked for a trade if I recall correctly.  Though nothing was completely prior to the deadline.  Funny thing was the Packers were a rumored package to boost Rodgers corps lol.

*edit: There was something weird about it---and here it is--it was strange bc it was after their good start:

Yeah...I'd definitely want more info on that before I'd be willing to trade for him.

You don't want a head case.

That would make Elijah Moore expendable. He’s going in to his third year. Not sure how good he’s been, hard to tell when you play for the Jets.

He has a hell of a lot of talent, but piss poor QB play and Garrett Wilson becoming the clear #1 has made him almost invisible in that offense.

Wow Darren Waller to Giants for A THIRD ONLY.

We missed on this one.

Yes and no

Would have loved to make that trade ourselves, but he's also the highest paid TE in the league.  We could sign Shultz for significantly less I'd think, Gesicki for substantially less for sure.

Not being in on this trade though means to me that we HAVE to land one of these good pass catching TE's though.

He's also older than you'd have imagined since it took him time to break into the league, he turns 31 a few weeks into the season.

Moore posted a kind of an enigmatic tweet about being thankful for a things he didn't get.

With the news that Aaron Rodgers is directing the Jets to try and sign some of his old offensive teammates, there's speculation the Jets might be willing to part with some of their current guys.

Exactly. Also, I think Davis will end up being part of the package going back to GB along with draft compensation.

Moore showed a lot of promise as a rookie....just have to make sure as you mentioned, that he is a cultural fit.

I get this but I think he is a top 3 TE. For $12M and a 3rd I think it's an absolute steal. Pretty sure no dead cap after 2024 season if you needed to move on.

Also would let us go all in on WR in the draft

He only played 9 games last year. Sounds like he is damaged goods to me.

I honestly wouldn't look at anything the Raider's did last year it was such a cluster. His contract has an easy out after 2024 if I'm reading it correctly. I think a guy like that makes a rookie QB transition so much easier, especially when we have no outside weapons currently.

    • He does have speed. 21+ top end speed is very fast for a linebacker and his 3 cone drill time is considered excellent, close to elite.
    • This is awesome because you get to see the perspectives of the scouts--get a glimpse behind the curtain. I wonder whose doing this was; I am curious as to why David Tepper allowed it. Maybe it was his wife. Maybe Dan.  At least from my perspective--and probably one shared by other fans--when David Tepper bought the team, he closed everything off too much to the fans, and really didn't give an explanation. Things were obviously done because he (and/or some others wanted to do it). Remember when they used the guise of construction and all that to keep fans from seeing the team during practice? I know there are laws and safety and all that, but Tepper could've made it happen. And, of course, we all know that they essentially fired Jeremy from his independent contractor gig as a photojournalist. I never understood why they'd do that (and the negative reverberations obviously affected Jeremy and ultimately this place--i.e, us fans). The pie was (and is) certainly big enough to throw some scraps to the independents. I realize that you can't necessarily open the floodgates, but a few different perspectives from indy journalists whether in word or photos is a good thing in my mind.  So, it's great to see different perspectives. I will say this however: it is not without risk, as you know there will be some buster who will be calling the scouts out if the players flop. I think we should all keep in mind that the buck stops with the GM. It's nice to have one, however, that is so convicted in his people and process--and ultimately success, that he's willing to give fans access to this type of information. Pass this on to Tepper.
    • I hope he ends up being our best ever at the position. Ryan Kalil left big shoes behind that we haven't quite been able to fill since.
