Yeah, totally, I just don't see him playing for them in any capacity moving forward though and they need a QB.  The bridge has collapsed.

If BAL lands the 8th (ATL), 11th (TEN), 16th (WAS), or 19th (TB) pick this year for Lamar, they become a team to watch.

Would Lamar be willing to sit out the season? I mean, that $32M non-exclusive franchise tag would nearly double his career earnings. What would sitting out a season do to his value? As bad as he has fuged this up so far, there's plenty more fuging up he could do here.

This is also how Lamar redeems the situation.  You go and sign with a well-respected agent.  The agent speaks now for Lamar and says, hey, Lamar realizes he made a mistake.  He was surrounded by people that did not really have his long-term interests in mind.  Lamar is appreciative of the Ravens patience and would like to return to the Ravens and lead them to a Super Bowl championship.

But, does he have it in himself to admit he made a mistake and f'd up the situation?  I'm not so sure...

His agent was his mom. She may have had his best interests at heart but was completely out of her element negotiating a massive NFL contract. If LJ had hired an agent day 1 he would already have been paid.

If he'd had an agent, he probably got paid two years ago. With his playing style and only one year removed from an MVP and coming off of another strong season, his agent would've been pushing HARD to get a deal done right then.

Just for my understanding, the contract he turned down was 3 year $133M fully guaranteed, right? That's $44.3M / year. Deshaun only got $46M. He could have finished that up as a very wealthy man and still only be 29 yo, with a lot of football left to play if healthy. If not healthy...he's fully guaranteed!

I guess his worry is that as a running QB those are his prime years and he'd get stiffed at the back end of his career.

That's what I've been saying for a while. He's lost more than he ever saved by not having one. I'd say at least 3-4x more.

The 133m was just the guaranteed portion. It was 5yrs 250m with 133m guaranteed. He wanted like 240m fully guaranteed. He’s an idiot.

The Ravens really did make him a very good offer and he just badly misjudged his value. And now he seems hellbent on blaming the Ravens for that and burning that bridge.

    • You're dreaming if you think that's all it would cost to move up from the 51st pick to the 1st round. It would take at least a first next year
