Chris Mortensen: Bryce Young is the pick, they all love Bryce Young

I think they are still 1A and 1B, and we can't go wrong with either.....they are really trying to get the #32 pick in the draft from the Texans, and I think both teams should do it....Stroud needs to be in a much better infrastructure than Young to succeed and I don't think Stroud would with the Texans

I also think the Panthers are eying Jaxon Smith-Njigba and would their perfect draft would be to make that trade with Houston, select Stroud at 2, then trade 32 and 39 to get into the teens to draft Jaxon

Read the post again. The question wasn't why wouldn't the Panthers trade with the Texans, it was why would the Texans give up picks to trade with the Panthers.

because the Texans love Young and Stroud shares the same agent with Deshaun lol

The sad part is people like this call themselves Panthers fans.

Imagine leaving a team because they draft a player you don't like.

I emotionally left this $hitty franchise in 2018. I have been willing to give it chances to redeem itself, but so far that hasn’t happened .

I didn't even know that that was a legitimate way to think for a fanatic, but I...guess that it is.

Honestly it sounds like the tact of an immature fan but that's just my opinion.

More like I don’t really care because I’m old enough and realize life is more than a stupid football team and I’m not wasting my time on Sundays  on a franchise that can’t pour piss out of a boot with the directions written on the heel.

I know it's common (and easy) to say "this time it's different", but with the current leadership in place, I honestly think it might be.

Unfortunately it just hasn’t stopped you from crying and being miserable on this site every chance you get.

I honestly hope so. It’s been a long time.

Roaring Riot...

I know they're marketing, but I also think they're right, partially because they haven't been this enthusiastic in the last couple of years.

They knew we weren't good.

I’m cautiously optimistic, but won’t put much energy into yet. It’s Tepper, so I’m leery.

I am not confident that Houston would be willing to deal, but I can say that I am not sure the Panthers would do it if the reason they moved up was for one guy.  Young is a better QB--and he was 5'10" and 190 or so while playing at Bama vs. Georgia and the rest of the SEC.  Stroud is bigger and he has a strong case to be the #1 overall pick--but until Houston calls, this is a mute point.

Personally, I like Young the person--the ambassador for the franchise--more than Stroud.  I love his brain and I think he will "play safe".  Stroud?  I love his accuracy, size, and potential.

    • In May of 2026, it looks like a challenging schedule...and it probably is.  I rarely listen to the "strength of schedule" conversations that light up social media this time of year. Each year teams improve and decline. I think there's chunks of the year we need to take care of business and the week 5 bye is not desired.  I do think if we don't hit the bye week at 3-1, it's going to be a major uphill battle given the schedule in front of us. This season falls on three people, regardless of schedule strength: Canales, Bryce, Evero.  Canales: Finally can truly coach all aspects of the team and not focus with gameday prep for OC duties anymore. He drives the bus and needs to get these guys in position to win each week. There's no way vets come in and put it on the line every week to watch our QB sh!t the bed (See: SF game last year). Bryce: Despite everyone's obsession with thinking Bryce is a guaranteed extension, I think this year will truly be his "prove it" year. If he comes out the way he has the past three years, I really don't see how vets and coaches can continue to put him under center long-term. He might play out that fifth year as the starter, but I think next offseason his long-term replacement is found. I also think there's no excuses with the weapons and commitment we've made on offense to insulate him with every possible weapon.  Evero: Best personnel he's had since he's been here...no excuses. Figure out how to blitz effectively. Figure out how to use CBs whose strengths are press/man. Figure out how to utilize a talented front-7 to get the hell of the field. Outside of FS and maybe....maybe ILB, there are few weaknesses on this unit.
    • Canales can never get his teams ready in the first week of the season so far. Hope that changes or Ben Johnson is going to take his azz to school.
