Miles Bridges Suspended

Miles isn't completely irredeemable it isn't mine or anyone's place to say. But when you look at his immediate actions afterward on social media like nothing happened and airing out his baby momma with her and his kids locked outside of his expensive home in the weeks after it doesn't vibe with someone that recognizes the severity of their actions and a desire to want to change that. If the team brings him back it's just not a good look no matter how you may want to rationalize it.

Miles is most likely a piece of poo human being, but if not here he's just gonna go to the Lakers or Philly or something on the cheap so screw it I'll take him back here for cheap. Hope we get Wemby or at least Miller and we can actually compete next year and maybe keep LaMelo from bolting at first opportunity.

Miller will be the best player in this draft. His game will translate better at the next level with his ability to create his own shot or create for others. His a Paul George clone.

Wemby im afraid will be injury prone. Not many 7'4 players have long careers. That frame is not going to last against grown men.

Naw…do disagree Wemby is far and away the best player.  Seriously man, Miller absolutely vanished in some games.  That is very concerning to me.  The talent is top notch but I don’t see any killer mentality with him at all.

I really do like Miller, also Scoot too. But Wemby is generational and you take a chance on him staying healthy every fuging time if you win the lottery this year. I just hope we get a top 3 pick as there’s a clear cut off after those 3.

He had a groin injury during the tourney.

He was the best player in college basketball during the regular season.

Wemby is great and a true unicorn, but his height and frame will be concerning long term.

Even Holmgreen got injured before the season last year. Those tall thin guys are just not built to last longterm.

Valid points.  Wasn’t aware of the injury.  Now if the Hornets ended up with Miller I would be excited.  Pretty big drop off after the first 3 for me.

Oh im not saying Wemby won't be the #1 pick. Im saying longterm Brandon Miller will be the best player in this draft class. I just don't trust Wemby will have a long career at that height and frame. He's gonna have a hard time adjusting to physical bigs.

You know IMO if we miss on the top 3 we need to look at guards.  Might sound nuts cuz we can use a wing but we need to start thinking about the day when Ball moves on.  It’s inevitable IMO.

Can’t even take Miller with his gun antics. It was an embarrassment he was allowed to play the season out and do that ridiculous pat down intro after a young lady was murdered and he brought the gun. He dodged a big charge on some technicalities and his boy taking a charge. We already have enough dudes in the room that think they’re cute flirting with ruining their own career. Whoever takes Miller Top 5 deserves him.

Good points in this thread. Money brings the monster out of a man. Money doesn’t change your mindset if it’s not already focused on making a difference.

There wasn't really any misconduct on Miller's part. Teammate left the gun in his car and he returned it. He'd been doing that pat down intro all year. It was a bad oversight not to drop it but nowhere near as recklessly stupid as Miles or even Bouk and Trez committing actual crimes.

Do you fr fr believe that Miller didn’t know he had that gun in his vehicle and drove it to his homie after he said he needed it, obviously bc he was twisted up somehow? He texted the man to bring it and he brought it but the only thing he did that was smart was have a fall homie with him who is going to get heavily, heavily compensated for taking the charge. Dude was accessory to a murder.

That is a hell of an accusation you might want to be careful throwing poo that serious around. People getting sued for spreading poo online these days.

He knew he had the gun. It belonged to his friend who asked him to bring it to him which he did. He has been cleared because there isn’t anything criminal about that. People can legally own guns and it’s not a crime to bring a gun to its legal owner. The friend who decided to then shoot the victim is a terrible person and 100% at fault.

    • Um, no, just no. Bills, Chiefs, Chargers, Ravens, Bengals, Texans, Eagles, Commanders are 8 teams that it's not even a debate, they aren't trading their QB for Purdy. Patriots, Broncos, Titans, Giants, Bears, Vikings, Falcons are 7 more teams with QBs drafted in the last 2 years that also would rather stick with them than trade for Purdy as they all have more upside than he does. Lions, Packers, Cowboys, Bucs are 4 more that would likely keep their QB's as well, age aside for Goff, Dak, and Baker. Panthers and Colts are two teams in the same situation, QB's who have both struggled and shown flashes to where the teams probably stick with them because they drafted them, but in a re-draft of all QB's, they probably take Purdy over the guy they currently have. Jags, Cardinals, Dolphins, are 3 more with QB's who probably have a higher upside than Purdy but come with their own question marks, so debatable if they'd take Purdy over who they already have. That leaves Jets, Raiders, Steelers, Browns, Saints, Seahawks, and Rams. Rams would take him over Stafford for the future of course, but not for 2025, and I'd think the Seahawks would take him over Darnold, but honestly not sure if they would take him over Milroe at this moment as they really like his potential and have him for 4 years really cheap. That leaves 5 teams that I see who would absolutely take him over their current situation right now, and a handful of others who MIGHT take him over their current guy, a far cry from your 20.
    • Agreed. Also as soon as they received the top pick in the next draft it was over. Bears won that trade. Gave up a top overall pick got one the next year plus pick 9, a couple 2nds, and DJ Moore a proven young WR. Had their 2024 pick from us be in the late teens or later it would be more debatable IMO.
    • Option A:  Pay your starting QB starting QB money. Option B:  Look for a starting QB for 4-10 years (or longer) while wasting the talent at every other position.    How many of the top 20 QB's do you think are worth what they are being paid?   When you factor in the last year of his present deal his contract is really an average of 45 million per year which in today's QB market is a very, very good deal. I wish we'd had found a Brock Purdy to pay 50+ million a year right after we parted ways with Cam.  Ya'll go ahead and live in fairy tale land where good to great (much less elite) QB's are available to pay. Just the fact that they had the chance to pay Brock after the disaster of trading up for Lance is a testament that when you find a quarter back you can win with, complete in the playoffs and superbowls with, you pay him.
