For folks curious why Mingo isn’t a first rounder it’s his production. He’s a guy who has played for four years of college ball and this is the first season he had more than 400 yards in a season.
27 catches for like 380 yards and 3 TDS was his career high in a season for all three. So he “boomed” this season and still didn’t even make it to 1k yards. And this was the only season he played in more than 7 games.

He’s a guy you need to just look at the athletic profile and ignore the lack of production and think your staff can unlock his skills better than Lane Kiffin.

Id be concerned about this pick.

I play way too many Dynasty Fantasy leagues that I’d like to admit. 1 of my rules is be wary of senior WRs. Screams Denzel Mims to me

Yep.  This may have been Charlie Jones.

Interesting prospect, transferred from Iowa (good for him, awful passing game there).  I've honestly been looking past the dude...really under the radar in sports media.

NCAA Receiving Leaders in 2022 were: (1) Tank Dell (2) Charlie Jones (3) Rashee Rice

In 2022:

110 rec, 1,361 yards, 12 tds, 12.4 ypr

Combine:

4.43

Aiden O'Connell had a QBR of 119.0 when throwing to him.

Size: 5'11 3/4, 175 lbs

Seems like he interviews well and has a chip on the shoulder style.

25 year old rookie WR. Pass

Charlie Jones

Who btw is on my short list of gems that could develop into big time players.

While we're at, Wr's also on that list Addison, Rice and Flowers.

And also while were at it: This TE class is disturbingly talented. IMO the ceilings for Meyer, Kincaid, Musgrave and LaPorta are extremely high.

Really like this draft at WR, TE, Rb, db and edge. ALOT of value in that top 150-200. I imagine we're trading back at some point.

    • would love it if Vegas were Week 5 (Oct 7).  Just throwing it out there with fingers crossed
    • I believe you are correct. Everyone remembers that record setting drubbing of the Broncos but that was the highlight of their season. They have very good coaching overall and they have a ton of talent. With a better QB they could have knocked off the Chiefs IMO. We aren't even in the conversation of the Dolphins until proven otherwise. We couldn't even get in the end zone against the lowly Chicago Bears. We got shutout and blown out by the CJ Beathard led Jaguars for fugs sake. We can't even compete with bad teams let alone run up the score on them. To me if I'm being completely realistic if I'm the GM and my job is on the line and I feel like Tua is Bryce Young's ceiling I'm drafting QB in the first round next year unless he just magically has a season like Stroud did last year. That's it. I'm genuinely not trying to be abrasive about this it just gets really mind numbing eventually that we keep lowering the bar down down down down down and it's like hey it's fine to have expectations. And if you have a young QB in his prime and he isn't giving you at least prime Jake Delhomme arm talent it's time to keep looking for a QB.
    • Not exactly.  They show that Jones was making the most of the opportunities he had.  I was never a fan of his, but I think that the talent level in NE last year is somehow escaping the massive negative attention it should have received.  That team was terrible - especially the talent and coaching on offense - and everyone was still afraid of the wrath of hoodie. He'll have a chance to restart his career at some point.  He was a middle of the pack QB as a rookie.  Plenty of teams out there would love to make it up to middle of the pack at QB.
